I haven't taken any photos of my gear with my webcam yet, perhaps I'll get around it one of these days. Here's what I currently use:

I moved away from normal amps several years ago and went with a rackmount component system for flexibility, sound quality, and the ability to direct-out record.

For those of you looking for a good guitar, I would highly recommend trying out an Ibanez. My JS100 Joe Satriani signature model is one of the best guitars I've ever played. When I try out a guitar, the first thing I look at is the neck shape. My philosophy is the smaller the neck, the easier and faster it will play. A big chunky neck seems harder to play. I believe that the less wood you're holding in your fretting hand, the more reach and room you'll have to play. That's why I don't like Gibson Les Pauls, Fenders, or B.C. Richs. I typically like a shallow flatter neck size, and most Ibanez guitars such as the RG, SA, and JS all have it. I would recommend the JS over the other models for several reasons other than just the neck. It's controls are simple and efficient: a 3-way toggle switch for pickup selection, one volume knob, and one tone knob that pulls out to engage the coil tapping to turn the dual humbuckers into single coil pickups (which gives you an excellent selection of tones). The body is basswood, which is bright, crisp, and loud with plenty of sustain. The output jack is recessed into the body and angles the plug upwards toward the strap peg, an excellent feature that allows you to tuck the cord in behind the strap without stress on the connector, which is good to prevent the plug from coming out during performance, or to plug into a wireless strap mounted transmitter for live performance. The body style is your typical Ibanez strat, but with a completely rounded and smooth contour for comfort. I'm not even a Joe Satriani fan, but I am a huge fan of his guitar. It's not that cheap, a new JS100 will probably run you somewhere from 600 to 700 bucks. The top of the line authentic model, the JS1000, will run you upwards of 1000 bucks. The JS100 has Ibanez pickups, while the JS1000 has DiMarzio FRED pickups. The JS1000 has a slightly better double locking tremelo system, and different hardware, which doesn't amount to much of a difference to me. You could always buy matching DiMarzio FREDs and install them yourself if you want and save some money.

For those looking for a cheaper, more basic model, I would highly recommend the Ibanez RG321mh. It has simple controls, just like the JS100, a 3-way toggle for pickup selection, one volume knob, and one tone knob controlling the dual humbuckers which are mounted directly to the body (better than plastic or metal mounting brackets for increased sustain and more accurate signal sensitivity). It has a fixed one-piece bridge, no pesky double-locking tremelo to worry about fine tuning and tinkering with (which also makes using different string gauges much simpler, spring loaded recessed bridges are pain in the ass to set up when switching to a heavier or lighter guage string set). It's a mahogany body, for a nice smooth warm tone. I believe it comes in a natural mahogany finish, or black. It sounds awesome, just like one of the more expensive models. It's really cheap too, around 300 bucks. I'm not sure if Ibanez currently produces them anymore, I certainly hope so, whenever I get some extra cash set aside, I plan on finding one.

What? Not Gibson? Not Fender? Heresy!!
Actually back in the day when I was learning guitar, there was only 2 decent brands. I tried both and found the Les Paul had really low action (no fret buzzing) which made it easier to play. Also the big chunk of wood attached to it gave it a bit more sustain. Strats were cool looking but you had to work the fretboard harder to play fast. So I went Gibson. When other brands came along in the late 70's (like Ibanez) they were just poorly made copies and considered only as guitars for beginners.

Things have changed a lot since then. Lots of great guitars being built including the one Focator mentions. Looks very nice and if the neck has the advantage of ease of play, I might look into it. Here it is:

My vintage 70's Morley Phaser pedal. They don't make em like this no more. Old school light bulb technology, boys and girls. Gives a certain authenticity to any Skynyrd tune you play.

i believe you are mistaken, the boss hm-2 is far better then the mt-2. but still, nothing beats a good tube amp such as a peavey or engl. schecter

My old Hohner HW400N (spruce top - mahogany back, sides, and neck). It was my first real guitar, it's a fairly cheap beginners model, but sounds pretty damn good. Doesn't have deep, rich bass like higher priced dreadnoughts.

That's some sweet toys you have Focalor. Is the Peavy amp sufficient for a small PA/monitor system? I've long been a fan of their stuff. I have found it to be stout and dependable. Our CS1200 is about 25 years old and still works....but it's time to upgrade. I prefer the tube sound, but didn't know Peavey made the one you have.  Would you mind giving me your product review?

Hehe, well,... It's definitely sufficient enough to give you a herniated/ruptured disc in your spine if you try to move the rack by yourself. The poweramp alone weighs about 65 pounds. I move the rack by myself, but it's sure as hell not easy, it's more of a two man job. The case is a 10 space wooden deal. It's really a bad idea to have this much money all loaded into this flimsy sided thing, but I really don't move it much, so there isn't much of a chance of damaging anything. I'll need to get one of those higher priced heavy-duty plastic sided ones if I ever decide to start gigging.

Oh yeah, it's got plenty of power. 120watts per channel. It has 2 channels. You could actually run two guitars simultaneously through this one power amp if you needed to. It's got the power to drive four 4x12 guitar cabinets. On the back it has 2 mono in's and 2 mono out's per channel. It also one line out with adjustable level per channel. It ALSO has one direct out per channel (for running directly into a PA system etc). On the front it has 3 knobs per channel: level, resonance, and presence. I'm a big fan of flexibility in amps, as you can tell. I was looking for an amp that could handle a stereo signal because I used to space the cabinets and run two sperate signals to them for fuller and more spacious effects and sound. It's loaded with six 12AX7 tubes (which I just assume is how the resonance and presence are adjusted in the signal) four 6L6 GE tubes, and four 6L6S tubes. It's been nothing but an indestructible workhorse for as long as I've had it. All of the Peavey products I've ever owned have always been reliable and pretty bulletproof (with the exception of the old all-tube Peavey Bravo 112 Reverb combo I used to have, which the reverb tank went bad on it and would feedback when the amp wasn't in a reclining position, big deal, it happens). It sounds great. Has miles and miles of headroom for the high volume clean tones. It functions very quietly too, not a shitload of fuzzy snow when no signal is coming through like some amps tend to do. Handles gain just as beautifully as it does clean tones.

When it comes to tube power amp users, there's basically two different kinds: 6L6's and EL34's. I think Marshall's have always used EL34's in the poweramp sections of their amps, while makers like Peavey have traditionally used 6L6. I could be wrong, but to me 6L6's have always seemed like they handled clean tones better and had more natural compression so typical of valve format amps. A lot of people focus on their sound in the preamp and effects stages but pay little mind to the poweramp they use. The poweramp has the potential to make or break your sound. For example, the JMP-1 preamp is one of the best around. But it sounds very boring and thin through a solid-state QSC poweramp. The majority of the tube sound is created by the way the processed signal is juiced by the poweramp. Anyway, I'm sure all this is probably not news to you.

I'd highly recommend my poweramp, for sure. I don't think Peavey makes it anymore though. You might be able to track one down at a used dealer. I haven't really kept up recently with current products, but in recent years Peavey seems to be making less all-tube amps, which really disappoints me. The 5150 was a good sounding head, but was not really a standard tube amp, more of a flavor-of-the-month signature deal. The 100watt XXX head was a really good standard head, none of the frills, bells, or whistles that other "special" amps add in. It seems like the trend is moving farther and farther away from rackmount component amps. In Atlanta, there are almost no good places to go to shop for rackmount guitar gear. Even Guitar center only has the Mesa Boogie and Marshall preamps, nothing else.
