125 FPS is visually much smoother than any other FPS setting but has a horrible side-effect of sticky movement. I get around this problem by using R1Q2's decoupled framerate feature (cl_async 1) and setting r_maxfps 125 / cl_maxfps 126.
If server admins would run with sv_strafejump_hack 1, sticky movement would be a thing of the past!
