Console, That is a great idea. I like to see enhancements to the server. I would like a random sequence os sp maps. A map vote is a good idea. I just hope hope that it doesn't cause the same map to be played over and over. I got burned out on edge and main gate due to player voting.

I'm sure I've never see quite a few of these maps.  Obviously they're not all in the rotation of every server,  but they are voteable.  There's nothing worse to break your flow than having to download a map through the server.  These are all in the BIG mappack download on tastyspleen.net yes?

Hi toxic... you're referring to the big list of map names I posted?  Yes, those (and more) are all in the BIG map pack download... However, they're not actually all votable.  Currently vanilla only has the single player maps as votable.  Currently mutant has it's own rotation as votable, plus dm1-8, plus koth1 (for Bunny ;) ).  We'll probably allow more votable maps from the map pack as time goes on and/or as people request them... Each server can have a different set of votable maps, hopefully tailored to the style of maps that the server typically plays.

But no, not all of that huge list of maps I posted is currently votable on any of the servers at present.

Regards,

(any chance of gettin sudden death added to muto? - its a pretty good DM "fast & tight  map")

Hi habib, thanks for the kind words . . .

fact3 is added to votable set on mutant, as is spasmo5 (saw someone try to vote for it earlier this evening, and it definitely seems to fit in...)

I had a lot of fun on my first requested map.  It was jail1 (Main Gate) with +pu, +qd, +ia.  There was one thing that I was disappointed in, and that was the fact that the Quad Damage never appeared.  All of the other powerups were there except for that one.  Any reason why?

But besides that, I had a lot of fun playing there and so did the others who played on "mymap"...Looking forward to doing that more.  It's fun going through the level with an infinite chaingun.  ;)

Awesome idea.  Not too many people know about it yet, but I hope they pick up on it soon.  Thanks!

Hi Kobra, should be fixed now...

Note, to fix it I had to turn off the remapping of quad->rail and invulnerability->rocket launcher.  So some players may be surprised if they've gotten used to the extra rail and rl on certain maps...  :)

Yeah, I got to experience Kobra going around firing bullets at every1 with QD, and I tell you what, it wasn't a pretty site!  :o
I dunno how to request maps yet but I think it's something like "mymap <mapname> <parameters>" if I'm correct ???

I guess I'm one of those players who are being surprised.  It's strange not seeing rocket launchers and railguns in their normal places.  Is there any way you could make it so that option turns itself off only when people request maps with powerups, and it stays on the rest of the time?

Probably couldn't do that, so I guess I will just have to make myself stop looking for rockets and rails in places I usually see them in.  :P

Maybe in version 2.0 of the script it could be done, but, didn't have time to code it.  So I stuck with id's dmflags and items placement.

Note that those railguns and rocket launchers weren't "exactly" in their normal places, since those places are where quad and invulnerability would be on the map.  But yeah, I'd like to make it so if powerups are requested, then you get the powerups, otherwise the rail & rocket show up. ... Just an SMOP.  ("Small Matter of Programming" ;) )
