Sticky: Using the 'mymap' command

Howdy  !

Coded up a map vote idea on mutant last night...

Well it's not a vote actually; you can just say what map you want to play.  It gets added ahead of the rotation immediately, behind any maps other players have said they want to play.  You can only add one at a time... if you change your mind, you can specify a different map, but you'll lose your place in line.  Once your map is played (or is playing) you can add an additional map to be played.

If you disconnect and you have a map in the playlist, your map is removed.

Also, you can specify the dmflags you want for your map.  Including powerups, armor, health, infinite ammo, falling damage, weapon stay, etc. on or off.

If you type 'mymap' you'll get a response showing the availble maps, and allowed dmflags.  Right now the available maps are set to mutant's rotation maps plus dm1-8.  We'll probably add more available maps as we see how things shake out.  Feel free to request maps to be added to those possible to vote for.  But I may refuse to add joke maps like railgunalley etc... dunno.. :)

Here are a few examples:

mymap marics35               // adds marics35 as the next map played (behind other player requests)
mymap marics35 -ws        // marics35 without weapons stay
mymap q2dm3 +pu +ia     // q2dm3 with powerups and infinite ammo

After playing maps requested by players, the server goes back into the rotation.

Here are the dmflags that can be controlled:
(Use a + or - to specify on or off)

  a    - armor (includes powershield)
  fd   - falling damage
  h    - health (including adrenaline and mega)
  ia    - infinite ammo
  ip    - instant powerups (only meaningful if +pu)
  pu   - powerups (quad, invulnerability, and, lol, the bio suit)
  qd   - quad drop (only meaningful if +pu)
  sf    - spawn farthest
  ws  - weapon stay

Are there defaults?  Like is Weaponstay on by default?  Or do we always have to do a +WS ?

banes had a good suggestion...perhaps putting the same system on the vanilla server with only sp maps available for choosing. Just might give vanilla a new taste so to speak.... ;)

Right on, sounds good to me.  Just going to watch mutant today and make sure it all seems to be working properly....  Then we can try that on vanilla, and I'll put it on railz (with the railz maps available there of course.)

I'm sure I've never see quite a few of these maps.  Obviously they're not all in the rotation of every server,  but they are voteable.  There's nothing worse to break your flow than having to download a map through the server.  These are all in the BIG mappack download on tastyspleen.net yes?
