Is MYMAP disabled on Vanilla (can't find any relevant chatter)? 

It seems AFU on vanilla - are we in a holding pattern?

Hey Habib,

Yeah... BTW, the search function on these forums doesn't work half bad.  That's not to criticize your post, just to let ya know it's available.  I searched for "mymap vanilla" (without the quotes) and the first hit in the list was:

But yeah, it's disabled on vanilla for now.  I've intended to re-enable it after coding in some safeguards.

My take on it is, there were plenty of players who liked vanilla fine w/out any mymap command.  I think mymap can work on vanilla, but it needs to be resistant to being used in ways that disrupt the flow of the server for those who already enjoy playing there w/out it.

Note that mymap is still enabled on mutant and railz.  It doesn't seem to have been abused much (yet) on those servers.

On vanilla, there are too many Floating Turd-style players who repeatedly request the same map, and with +ia - for instance.  Maybe there should be a server where that's OK to do - but I don't think vanilla is it.

I probably won't turn mymap back on for vanilla until:

  - a given map can't be requested more than once every hour or two
  -  +ia  can't be requested more than once every hour or two

I think those restrictions would have a chance of allowing mymap to work on vanilla without disrupting the flow too much for the players who like the server already w/out mymap.

It would be helpful/useful to be able to see the deny list.... so you know which maps are currently ineligible to be mymapped.   just a suggestion.  still a very, very cool TS feature.
