There is a hard limit of 480 tall on the skins. If you place a skin taller than that you receive a Skin taller than 480 error message

Normally this error is due to 'textures' (usually custom) being too large. (I frequently had this error when mapmaking). However Aerowalk is working for everyone - and has no custom textures, as far as I know.

the quote points that it might be a problem with "models", perhaps you modified the model you are using, and combined with the map, produces this error?

Otherwise it could be your vid card. Try running the map in Standard vid to see if it really is. There is also the option '8-bit textures' in the Video Settings, might have to do with that.

Last you can always delete the .bsp and re-download it individually - perhaps the file got corrupted when download the whole pack.

I figured it out finally.  I think my pak0.pak was slightly corrupt, and copying over the one from the disc solved the problem.
