Kind of off topic on the religion thread, but not for the global warming debate.....

Having a minor in geology - I still think evidence can be misleading by both sides of this argument.

Arguing for the lack of negative evidence is a bit of a stretch in my opinion. That whole approach is unscientific. What would be counter evidence to the flying spaghetti monster? This is one of the weakest arguments one can present.

Reaper what you don't understand is that there are no views to disagree or agree with. THESE ARE FACTS. The normal PPM rating for CO2 in our atmosphere is <280. Once you get over 280, it is irregular for our planet. Our global average for CO2 in the atmosphere is 388 ppm, which is an abnormality that never happens. This abnormality that I speak of is called global warming, the end.

So please reaper, defy facts and tell me why so many things are changing at the same time that this abnormality arised? Why are there not anymore hurricanes in june/july? Why are fishing patterns changing? Why are there hurricanes in mid-january? Why are maps having to be changed due to melting? Why are cities breaking all-time temperature records? Why is it that last winter in january I surfed with a mere vest on (water temp was 61 degrees) when the year before than for jan it was 39? Why is it that I still have to wear a vest to swim in the ocean because IT'S STILL IN THE LOW 60'S IN JUNE? Why is the ocean temp in the 70's in november? WHY IS IT that the temperature gained is directly proportional to greenhouse emissions? HMMMMM!!!! I think you're best bet on this one is claiming that God did it and his work is incomprehensible.

All of these changes must be happening by coincidence that our atmosphere contains far more ppm of CO2 needed for an ice age.

If only it were just that simple. Keep in mind (as you look at the graph) each time CO2 levels exceeded *275 ppm that it barely did and at what appears to be the climax of a warming period.

We are now in uncharted territory involving CO2 emissions. Never before have the levels been this high (>400 ppm), and we are seeing an rate of change in temperature like never before.

This is true.  Here is a link that i believe proposes an unbiased summary and collection of data in regard to global warming by one of the most prestigious universities in the world.

Its good to see that the people here are aware of political influence on topics such as this, and that few believe everything they read.  However, it really seems that some are not aware of the actual cause of global warming, and how CO2 contributes to the rise in temperature.  It would be wise for some of you to research the topic itself, not look at data based on someone's opinion whom has more than likely distinctly picked a side in this argument.
