Considering your ongoing claims that religion and 'fear of god' has played a crucial positive role in societal development, the above is such a failure of logic and reasoning I don't know where to begin.  (At best, you seem to be asserting that the culture and values of the Taliban would be just as bad if their religious dogma were removed from the equation.

Who said they would have even survived if it wasn't for religion?  It looks like they would have been dominated by the soviets, and a "foreign" government, if it wasn't for their religious belief.  If you watch them, you can see that they know they're going to die, but they don't care, I'm pretty sure that helped them push out the soviets.

Going back to WWII,  if the allied forces weren't "serving the lord"  it appears hitler would of taken over, in my opinion.  I also don't see religion playing a primary role for hitler gaining power.  The people of Germany were down and out, and hitler said..."we are Germans, we are strong, we're not like these jews,blacks,gypies, etc".  To win the war was not beneficial to society?

Sadly, in ww2, many germans were also led to believe they were doing "God's work".

Christianity didn't do much at all to help the situation in any way.

The economic angle that states that Germany really just went to war and elected Hitler because they were having money troubles is only one small bit of the overall picture.

If you don't have enough to feed your family, you might justify stealing.

The jews living there were just as much Germans as their Christian neighbors!!!!!
