It is pretty naive to look at the servers and forums as two separate things. They are equally important in supporting the community structure, and unavoidably interconnected. By causing damage to one part of the community, you're still damaging the whole. For committing an offense against a society, one must face the responsibility according to this society's norms. Speaking of which, why is he still posting?

Quadz doesn't have a dossier for every q2 player out there, nor can he pull up someone's credit history from their IP. Any reasonable admin in his position would just use the people who have proven themselves reliable over certain time. What he does instead, is trying to make the presumption of innocence a decisive factor and give everyone a chance. That may not sound like a lot, but it takes some serious balls when your personal interests are at stake. Keep it up, Quadz, and one day the democracy will prevail!

Oh, and ban Dahang while you're at it, I'm sure it was all his idea!

I can guarantee u that dahang and ni-ux all talked about doing this and laughed about it,  just like the pathetic fake demo ni-ux put up with them in observer on some random server ive enevr been on 

i dont even remmeber why adam hates me so much, i remmeber being cool with him but o well..  id just like to point out that those 3 all tried to put this on u adam and u can best believe it was planned 

as much shit as i talk, everything i post is legit and for enterainment...  each demo is also on challenge-tv so i wasn't overly worried about the demos being deleted. but the fact u spent the time to put them back up.. puts u higher in my book, ill try to keep it cleaner

Reading his posts... the guy really is a retard in a lot of ways, sure... but I find it SO damn funny how pissed off he makes some of you people (mostly the jackasses here I don't like anyhow). Exactly. There is no way you can justify any of bzx's past actions. Quadz, you need to learn how to just take people's words for it who are trustworthy. You had two respectable admins (DaHanG, Mya) and multiple people PM you on irc informing you of bzx's actions and you yourself stated that you wouldn't have given him admin if you had known these things. Of course it took a week after you had known these things to come to a decision. It's like saying someone want's a babysitter that's NOT a rapist. You hire this person and he appears to be clean. You learn 2 weeks later that he in fact WAS convicted of rape, but you say oh well if i knew this ahead of time I wouldn't have hired him, since he is hired i will let him continue to babysit for another week. Obviously nothing he has done is quite a serious as this, but it applies-if you are aware of wrong doings do the right thing don't worry about politics.


Jagermonsta, I can assure you anything related to [TC]Granny IS a joke. My avatar, the wallpaper I posted on the post your desktop thread, deleting over 400 of his posts, etc has all been in good fun. He doesn't anger me at all, lol. Granny I notice your are still missing all of your posts. You cannot be a q2 god and be 0 - 8. I'll try to keep my posts shorter from now on GYN.

NOBODY I talked to was willing to attribute that league-match-quit-stuff to bzx.  I asked.  Everyone said it was krez.

Quadz, you need to learn how to just take people's words for it who are trustworthy.

Mya didn't have firsthand knowledge.  Indeed, I gave bzx a shot at admin specifically because of Mya's initial recommendation.  You know the rest.

Of course it took a week after you had known these things to come to a decision.

I really fail to see what was at risk, by my spending roughly ten hours over the course of a week to try to get as much specific first-hand information as possible from anyone who would talk to me.

What was the risk?  I was keeping tabs on the log files.  What could bzx have possibly done?  He didn't even have the rcon password.  (I don't give it out to anyone.)  Sure, he could have stuffed something inappropriate to players, or made the server quit, or whatever... in which case my investigation would have immediately been over, saving me time.  Big deal.

I can't imagine how the risk level associated with someone having a window of opportunity to send an errant UDP packet to a game server, equates with anything related to the safety of children.  From a risk management standpoint alone, the comparision is unfounded.

I'm not sure where you got the idea politics factored into my preference to gather as much first-hand information as possible about the allegations.

First-hand accounts of hardcore abuse by bzx (like stuffing a quit command during a league match) were definitely what i was looking for.

Instead, what I found, was that people were only willing to attribute that incident to krez.  Not only that, some people who contacted me said things like, "Hey, dahang asked me to tell you to remove bzx admin. But actually I think he should be given a chance."

So, yes, I took a week to: a) gather as much first-hand testimony as possible; b) talk with bzx and get a feel for how he would react to certain questions.

I ask you again: WHAT WAS THE RISK?
