Watching HBO like the Sopranos and Deadwood is still watching tv, but those two shows, particularly Deadwood, feature more memorable and well-written characters than most movies you pay to see.

Sopranos is the best show ever done, period (besides South Park, but that is a totally different league, where it stands alone).
House MD goes second in my list.
Then Oz, before it turned gay.
What's this Deadwood about?

Colbert Report is funny when he comes out to high5 the front row before doing an interview. The National Press Corps thing he did with Bush a few feet away from him was pretty funny too.

p.s. Deadwood's about a real place in the 1880s out in the Dakota's. Kinda stilted dialogue, lots of profanity and grimy people in a western 'trading post'(stage right before a 'town' with its sheriff, hardware store, whorehouse/bar,etc)

I think over the eons a land bridge between upper rl and rail mesa has been eroded,
and the main "Arena" may have been an ancient lake..
