Binds for Sharing Weapons

Hey guys,

I know some of you need some binds for sharing weapons!  Here are some I got courtesy of Daelmun, customized to my own keys and preference of course.  This bind allows you to hit the weapons keys themselves to pass weapons and/or ammo.  You just have to hold another button down while doing it.  Simple?  I still have to stand still for a few seconds to do it...   ::)  gotta practice  ;)

Change the modifier keys to suit your preference.... ummm... darn... you also can download the location files from q2players.org (i think...).  These will tell the location you drop a weapon on the dm maps.  You make a folder Quake2/locs and unzip the files into there.  Hope this helps!  8)

i use the key pad buttons in order to drop weapons

basically 2-9 for each weapon, and 1 just drops some shells so that i can pick them up and make trick sounds

i use weapon binds very similar to daelmun's but we coded them a lil differently.. his are alot more cleaner and simple.. mine are a mess but they work for me.. the only difference i can see between ours is i only drop the weapon the first time i press it.. then the next times will only be ammo until i let go of the weapon drop toggle button (mouse3) and its back to 'use weapon'. once you're comfortable with it you can drop weapons/ammo in the middle of trick jumps just like me and dael! glhf :P

Well, could probably be done easier as well, but this way you also just drop one weapon and the next time you press the weaponkey while holding in the toggle-weapondrop-key you drop ammo for the weapon. This to prevent you giving away multiple weapon of same type. Only annoying thing is that if you hit the weaponkey before the toggle-weapon-drop key, you change to the weapon you are gonna drop instead of dropping it, and that may cause some frustrating moments, trust me. But with some practice it should be a minor problem.

I also have the ammodropping on the mousewheel and it works really good for me at least. Mwheel up I drop rockets+grenades, mwheel down I drop bullets (very usefull, both in teamplay, and I'n duels to make fake sounds). Also if i duck while using mwheelup i drop slugs, and mwheel down is shells. The ducking on mwheel up for dropping slugs works pretty good too in situations where youre close to be killed with rail, and dont want to leave the rail behind when dying. Just drop all your slugs and you leave no gun behind.

Seems like q2Advance doesn't like these binds.

It crashes on the .exe when I set these in my autoexec.  ::)

Gotta check what's going wrong.

put it in quotes and it should drop both: bind / "drop rocket launcher; drop rockets"
