couldn't you just force a wait of ten maps or something horrendous between mymaps? Or make it a timelimit between?  Or inactivate offensive flags? 

Or just make a simple vote (scaled 1-10, 10 being best) in-game where everyone votes each mymapped map on the mymapper and how well he mymapped the map.  Each time you mymap a map the votes will average into your total and you get more mymapping priveledges, like being able to mymap more often and with more tags available to you.

just imagine we're talking about how mymap has been turned off on the vanilla server... and everything should gently settle into place...

One thing I was trying to avoid with 'mymap' was "voting" -  because while playing a map it was repeatedly annoying to me on 'vote' servers that I would have to pay attention during the game to this meta-information, involving requests for me to stop what I was doing and respond to some vote called by someone who wanted q2dm1 again.

I tried out 'mymap' in part to dispense with the need for other players to be disrupted mid-game to vote yes/no on some map request....... knowing also that my bare-bones first-pass implementation of 'mymap' was likely to be abused...  (Intriguingly, it has so far been abused primarily (exclusively?) on one particular server.)

Anyway .......

Yes: I do have [some] ideas on how to restrict mymap so that it would be resistant to patterns of abuse I've observed so far...  I just need to try out some .......... variatons on a theme.. as it were...

Whhoooaaaa, I almost forgot another really important part of the vanctf server.  Weapons Stay should be turned OFF to keep balance.  That's really important.

I use the Admin account to change privileges on boards & other stuff the console account can't do.
