JQ ...is da man!Thats all I have to say about that. Banes is fun though...in a rough sorta way.He tries and tries to get me to 1vs1 him.But he hasnt talked shit to me like"No skill lamer come play me!"Its more like "Im the best!" Which is alot better...and less harmful for his ego..lol.

Hi Slikk... I did pass the word onto JQ right away that someone was after him for a match in the forums.  But I'd read enough of the challenger's posts by then to get a handle on his MO.  Which seems to be that he's found he can phish for 1v1 matches by goading people into playing him.  I think he eventually stated that he uses this approach because he is able to get matches against top players in short order that way, who otherwise might not have accepted a "hey, anyone want to play me 1v1?" type posting.

A abrasive approach; but it does seem to get results (and generate a lot of ancillary noise as well.)

On the plus side, at least he loses gracefully (speaking from observation; I haven't played him.)

damn pantaloons, well i guess i already kinda said whats up about what i do, but no one really put it together as well as you did, im only loud and abrasive in the dm server, cause if i jus go in there be like HEY ANYONE WANNA 1v1 the reply is usually silence, once i get into 1v1 server though its all gl hf and ggs, but i really dont have much respect for alot of the players in the vanilla server, most of them dont have the concept of shooting + moving at the same time, and then alot of people like to talk shit back to me, but none of them back it up, im putting my ass on the line talkin shit to everyone, anyone who could potentially beat my ass, they could say a whole buncha shit back to me if i lose, do i care? no, reputation and shit like that are stupid, only skill is worth anything, and only through practice can you get that skill, so if a lil bitch talks shit to me, but is unwilling to 1v1 with me, i consider that a garbage ass q2 player, and i have no respect for them

people like matser are cool, ive known him from long ago when i initially joined the tasty spleen servers, i liked him cause i could be as loud and as abrasive as i wanna be and he didnt really fall victim to it, thats when you know someones got strong character...unlike alot of you people on this server and i dont give a shit if he doesnt wanna 1v1, cause hes not gonna shit talk me and not back it up, he knows what its like to get your shit pushed in on a 1on1 match, hell i know what its like too, sometimes id be reluctant to play certain people who ive played so often ive come to recognize the ass beating, but you stilll need to practice 1v1 foo! tourneys gonna be here sooner than later

If you are Spectator/not playing, use Messagemode2 to Chat. Say_team that is.
e.g. (bind u messagemode2)

During the Tournament, it'll be thoroughly applied. And Offenders could get their buttock kicked as a reminder.
Note that It is also now part of the Rules, appearing in the (Settings & Rules) Thread.

OK, The tournament is completely booked. If for some reason you have to drop out, contact either me, Laurelin, or EyEsTrAiN ASAP so we can fill the spot. The first round of matches will be announced sometime tomorrow (Wed. June 8, 2005), and the first round of the Tournament will begin on Friday June 10, 2005.

Matches will be assigned randomly, and must be completed exactly one week from the start of the round. That means that the first round of matches MUST be completed by Friday, June 17, 2005, or else you will be disqualified. If for some reason you absolutely cannot schedule a match within a weeks time, talk to either me, Laurelin, or EyEsTrAiN (just join irc.gwar.net 6660 #insomnia) and we'll address the problem.

There will be a ref assigned to each match (if you said you would like to ref, you most likely will, if this is a problem, send a Private Message to either Me, Laurelin, or EyEsTrAiN). As soon as the matches are announced it is your duty to get in contact with the ref assigned to your match and your opponent and set up a time for the match to occur. If a ref is not present the match is not valid and must be re-played. Also, a demo of each match must be made or the match is invalid. All demos of matches must be saved until the ENTIRE TOURNAMENT is over. When you record your demos, label them in the following format:

<Player 1 Name>_<Player 2 name>_Round_Date

Each ref must retain a copy of the demo until the tournament is over.
