DM is on Game-a-holic

When I first came to TS no one hardly ever played the DM server. But now, it's full alot.
I submitted the DM server to Game-a-holic a ways back so people could google for quake II servers and find a straight stock Death Match server with the 8 map rotation, and guess what, the DM server is almost "ALWAYS" 1/2 to full now. Alot of new comers coming in from googling.
There is alot of empty Servers listed on Game-A-Holic running Team and rails, but no servers running just straight DeathMatch (except for TS's) and alot of players look for just that.

Like I said in another post, if we could take some of the other "non"TastySpleen TDM and Modded servers and turn them into Vanilla and DM style servers, put them on Game-a-holic, we could get those servers full too and attract more new players.

And to promote the other Mods such as Xatrix, XQuake, Mutant, and nonTS servers we still need banners to advertise and promote to the visiters. Also I know there is something like this already but maybe put in bigger fonts on servers themselves when they connect to visit WWW.TastySpleen.net for a list of servers and to check out the forums.

Finally, my favorite server full. Oh Yea !!!

You'd need to contact the admins of those servers to change their configuration, of course.

Also I know there is something like this already but maybe put in bigger fonts on servers themselves when they connect to visit WWW.TastySpleen.net for a list of servers and to check out the forums.

I've tried putting more info in that MOTD, but the more screen space it took up, the more it annoyed people.

we do not need another server of spamming kids like vanilla
one is plenty

i dont think your going to get more then you are as for as players to warrent changing the popular tourney servers
or else the dm server would be full all the time

people pretty much never play on xquake. mutant is starting to have more players (after the maps were changed )
and xatrix always has people atleast once a day

i think we are fine the way we are. however, there are unused tastyspleen servers that could be converted to something else
goatass/ctf/ra2/gumbys come to mind

then again, do we really need more people using up what little CPU power we have left

I'm here tonight to speak out against busting schoolchildren. Busting schoolchildren is a terrible, terrible thing. I hear this is going on all over the country. Mean policemen arrest little children and put them in jail in the wrong neighborhood, so they can't even play with their little friends. Imagine, busting schoolchildren! The food in jail isn't good, and even though they get bread, I don't believe they can get toast. Or nice cake. Now, who will tuck them in? Where will they hang their leggings? Where will they set up their little lemonade stands?

I almost always play on the DM server so this
will really benefit me. thx dude.

Another DM would be cool, but the one we have is rarely full.
Last night we were having trouble getting past q2dm2 cause there were only 5 peeps on the
server and we couldn't find each other. Got kinda boring.

We wouldn't want to thin out the gameplay too much more
or I'll never get to shoot three people with a single rail... (except on vanilla!)

No, apparently YOU've been playing mutant more, though. 

I split the logs at the moment the first map of the new rotation came on.

[2006-06-13 16:21] say ******** changing to map: xdm5  <--- when first of new maps came on

Before that, since June 1, mutant had 29773 frags, which comes out to about 2209 frags per day.

Since the new rotation, mutant has 4296 frags, which so far comes out to about 2143 frags per day.

So, since the new maps went up, mutant has been almost exactly the same (just slightly fewer frags per day, but maybe that's due to all the map downloading.)

LOL that is true i have been playing more quake2 these last few days

thats probably what is is console that one buggy map kinda disrupted it i would think too
i know on 2 occasions where there were alot of people playing just before it and it would be totaly empty after that
