Ahhh Quake 1 kicked ass...

I recently loaded it up, dl'ed FuhQuake and a bunch of other shit - and proceeded to get my ass handed to me so bad I thought my name was fragbait. There are plenty of diehard Q1'ers left - and let me tell you they are GOOD.

Watching a demo of top Quake 2 players seems like watching slow motion videos compared to top Quake 1 demos - the movement is INSANELY fast - I don't see how they maintain their thoughts coherently at that speed. I still like Quake 2 movement better, with the exception of air control - being able to swing around corners like you do in Q1 would be hellacious.

A Quake 1 server sounds awesome... let the rocket launcher be god once again!

yes, quake1 is insane hehe

which is why iv always liked quake2 the most
but i still find it fun. iv started playing again after seeing this topic here lol. forgot how much fun it is

just an fyi, fuhquake is dead. i highly suggest using ezquake which is a heavly modified version of the last fuhquake source

im also compiling a list of possible maps for our server here

hey xtife if u just wanna make a map pack .zip of all the maps were gonna use for the q1 thing and send it to me Ill upload it to the same dir as the game itself

built it way back in the day, but after I did I didnt one on one anybody at my house
on any other level. And when my inet was gone for 3 years all I did was play reaper bots
on it. A short demo to show the layout, and secrets.

Heh. I come from the land of QuakeWorld. When I used to play Quake 2 I'd play all the time on the tastyspleen servers. Then I saw a tastyspleen server pop up in my server browser for Quake 1. Although most of you sucked some did okay.
