yes, thats all you need.. download def's pak and it comes with q1 with other stuff like bright skins and high res textures

the zip i gave to sean is just the vanilla quake1/quakeworld stuff
nothing else. clean and small download

quakeworld for the server ftp://ftp.idsoftware.com/idstuff/quakeworld/unix/

and i highly suggest ezquake or fuhquake for a client

over the vanilla ones

That's the file I was talking about originally...comes with FuhQuake, registered Quake pak files, and you can download the CTF, TF, RA, and the high-res textures there.

Server binaries are also located on the same page

I tried def's pack back in the day, and I'm pretty sure I still liked eQuake better. Plus, I don't have a copy of def's pak file, so anybody who wants Quake right now will have to stick with eQuake. I just downloaded it myself and played right through to the end. I must say FuhQuake-GL looks pretty good for such an old game.

For anyone wanting the Original Quake game and if you cannot find it anywhere preaty cheat, you can actually download it from id for about $20.00 bucks. Expensive i know. But if you can't find it anywhere else ???

You need to read...go back to my link for eQuake. It includes the FULL REGISTERED VERSION OF QUAKE. Why the hell you gonna buy it when you can download it for free in less than 3 minutes?
