Yes pot should be legal and it's not performance enhancing. Like him I'm not allowed to smoke it in my line of work. So I don't. He's an idiot. My goal is to get my retirement up to par, get a flat in marathon, and smoke joints and spear fish all day. Unfortunately I'm not there yet and maybe never will

I think I mentioned it in another thread, but common drug tests where you piss in a cup with a temperature strip on it and then they dip the testing stick in there... they're pretty easy to pass with enough time beforehand to guzzle water until it just about makes you puke, which will dilute the metabolites in your system to an undetectable level. Even without time, as long as they don't actually WATCH the piss flow from your dick to the cup, they have urine substitutes you can use. About the only drug tests you can't pass are the hair test and the blood gas chromatograph tests like the army/government does.

Real talk: If you're gonna be an athlete using banned performance substances or illicit recreational substances, it's your coaches or agents job to school you in how to pass the fucking dick simple pee pee tests.

In a random test my first one is that one foc. That's the easy one. You get fired immediately if you fail. Then comes a urinalysis that gets sent to a lab(they're testing for synthetic piss now even if its the good stuff that has actual real urine ketones in it). Then comes the hair test. It goes back 90 days. Longer than that would be way too expensive for the company.

My buddy shaved most of his body. They took what little hair they could get because he refused them taking from his eye brows. He had been clean for 50 days but passed the 90 day hair test. It really is a shame that smoking a joint 50 days ago on your time off is such a big deal. But, it's because heroin goes out of your system in 3 to 5 days or less that they do it.

The gas chromatograph test is actually the most expensive, the most accurate, and can detect things the longest. It's the most medically thorough test, and hospitals use it to test blood to discover virtually any substance even in very very small amounts. Used to, you could kill someone by poisoning them with certain things because standard blood tests at the time either couldn't detect it or weren't designed to detect that particular substance (such as arsenic). But gas chromatography vaporizes a small sample of a substance and records the rate at which things evaporate which can indicate the substance and the concentration. It's kinda like a CAT scan for blood: REALLY expensive compared to other methods. A company would only do it if they deal with things where liability can possibly involve a large disaster. It's several hundred dollars per test, perhaps even a thousand or more, not sure. The hair test is over 100 bucks per test, but probably less than 300. And the piss test is probably 80 bucks. Actually the test itself can be bought by anyone for 5 or 10 bucks at a drug store, but the lab has to pay doctors and be "official", thus the markup.

Jobs where the turnover rate is high, they do pee pee tests. Jobs where people stay for many years and they deal with very expensive and/or dangerous equipment, they're gonna fork out the money for the more conclusive test because they don't often have to pay for multiple new job candidates to take the expensive test. Also, when the company deals with expensive and dangerous equipment, the companies insurance carrier will often require gas chromatograph drug testing in order to have coverage.

MOST places will claim they have "random drug tests" when you hire on, but very very very few actually DO. They don't want to pay to test people unless they HAVE to. So unless you get hurt on the job and require medical attention that the companies insurance would have to cover, they will NEVER randomly test you. Unless... you operate shit like a crane or dredge thingymajigger.

I haven't really kept up with it... partly because the coverage of it has been surprisingly vague. With the MeToo bullshit so popular right now, I'm pretty surprised that people aren't organizing marches and protests over the NFL's decision to suspend him rather than fire him. Then again... Ray Rice cold cocked his old lady on video tape and he's still got a job. If we've learned anything from recent history, the only way the NFL will publicly shun you and disconnect from you is if you are convicted of murder, ala Aaron Hernandez. OJ Simpson is a murderer, just not "convicted" of it, and they still sometimes mention his stats and records.

But now that I think about it... let's suppose for some reason Aaron Hernandez got out of prison on a crazy technicality. I think SOMEONE in the NFL would still talk to him about possible employment, don't you?
