What is fascinating about disability in some people, is that it never held them back. Like Tommy Iommy, who lost the tip of 2 of his fingers when he was young.
just being in the presence of Dio probably made a person 20 times better at metal.

Like Tommy Iommy, who lost the tip of 2 of his fingers when he was young.Yeah, but early in his career with Black Sabbath while Ozzy was fronting the group, I wouldn't have called him particularly talented. He pretty much sounded like a guy missing parts of his fingers. His overall technique was pretty simple, repetitive, and predictable. As the 70's went on, he got better and better as a player though. And then all of the sudden in 1980, Ronnie James Dio joins the band then Iommi's playing just COMPLETELY changed and actually showed some real honest to goodness talent. Dunno if he had any kind of formal lessons between the time Ozzy left and Dio joined, but it sure sounded like it.
