That's more like the inversion of what I said. My position is that if you're lagging and other players aren't, then we have ruled out a server issue.

But if all players are lagging simultaneously, that still doesn't "mean a server issue". In terms of likelihood, it would mean there's probably a network router issue in SoftLayer's network close enough to the server to affect everyone.

But when one factors in your data about the problem occurring only during specific times of day, that makes it even more likely to be a network problem, and--unless we're certain it's affecting all players--it also suggests the problem is more likely to be closer to you than to the server.

Why don't you run the goddamned WinMTR trace for 15 minutes while you're experiencing lag, and find out?

However that expression goes about, "I'd rather light a candle than curse the darkness" -- it's the opposite of what you're doing in this thread.

I can think of another good way for him to show us if it's packetloss. Force AC on him and he will have to use a client with a decent sized and useful netgraph like the one in either r1q2 or APRq2.

We'll get a useful screenshot and he'll be strong armed into helpful action on his own part to insure that his problems can even be correctly diagnosed.. it's a win-win.

Lets humor him for a minute. What if the servers were rebooted and he still had issues? He has shit smeared all over his face at that point.
