The Campgrounds [BETA v3]
id Software's Quake III: Arena classic for Quake II

Features:
- completely rebuilt map with Q2 physics and gameplay in mind
- DM and TDM item layouts in addition to the default duel layout
- AAS file for bot support
- location file for team games

- refined geometry
- tweaked health pack layout (had too much health!)
- improved lighting
- fixed minor clipping issues
- improved rendering efficiency

- resized most of the map in order to address the overall cramped feel of beta v1, resulting in vastly improved gameplay quality
- adjusted geometry to address line of sight issues
- refined some of the geometry
- tweaked item layout, mostly concerning health packs and replacing pillar health pack with adrenaline
- replace quad damage with mega health in bsp due to confusion regarding the lack of mega health (it was in the duel ent override)
- added DM and TDM entity overrides, removed duel override
- improved lighting
- fixed a few clipping issues
- misc. refinements to aesthetics
- slightly more conservative use of ambient sounds

I took a quick glance at the map. Your remake feels much more faithful and looks better than that other campgrounds remake. The best part with your remake is that you use the duel item layout seen in QL or q3pro-dm6, which was my main problem with that older remake.

Also, I tried many of the trick jumps for dm6 on your remake. They worked when I tried them, which is cool.

I assume mega health replaces quad when you use the duel override.

tourney4 would prob be another q3a map that would be pretty interesting to see in q2, but not sure if it has enough weapons/armors

this map definitely looks amazing though :P

im claustrophobic on this map. This version would be good for 1998, but today PC with high fps-movement allow much bigger map. This look like kiddy version of q3 map

@Vae tourney4 q2version exist long time pro_q2t4 http://quake2.com.ru/downloads/maps/88/

and yea toxicity but also i would like to play Q4 Phrantic in q2  or if someone take time to fix Lost World q2 version q3dm13 on latest ql editition (weapons and textures)

without lg its hard to play q3 maps against q2 rail
only fastest ch+more bullet damage could get near lg
imho for q3/ql maps should be tourney-q3 mod with proper damage settings

What servers currently run this map:? I checked vanilla and did not see it.  I would think adding it to vanilla and possibly dm server would be a good idea. If there isn't access to these maps being ran on public servers , it does little to encourage the process of mappers making maps. Mutant meh nobody plays there.

bloodrun is already on vanilla, and this version of campgrounds uses stock textures so we can add it to vanilla too, once it's out of beta.

 I am aware bloodrun is available, I said map , not "maps" was just taking the time to show my appreciation for both maps. Thanks for adding campgrounds to vanilla when the time comes.

looks really amazing, only complaint is that im just a little more used to the bigger version of this map, so its kinda weird playing a smaller version, but ill get over that.

Muerte's got a point -- I also had a feeling it was a bit too cramped. The narrow stairways are an easy fix, the rest will take a bit longer but it should all be fixable in the end. Already improved quite a few things. Btw look out for some misplaced clipping by the HB!

For other remakes Phrantic would be the easiest to do and a good fit for Q2 gameplay. I can't see how Tox could work without CPM/QL telejumps and airstrafe accel? Since both swelt and sumatra/thefury are still around, it would probably be good practice to get permission from them first though...

The teleport fix in OpenTDM sorta works with the speed issue coming out of a teleport, but I still agree with your point.
