Overrides only work with r1q2, as far a I know.

It's part of the r1q2 server code.
Only other way I know to tweak entities is to decompile the bsp to a map file, edit and recompile it.

override works fine on r1q2 servers in USA but not on q2pro servers in europe...

My understanding is q2pro servers can use plain .ent files for overrides

I'd argue it's more convenient than r1q2, as a special tool isn't required to create a binary .override format

Entity overrides

Entity string can be dumped from the current map using ‘dumpents’ server command and later changed with a text editor.

but not working even with dumpents command implemented in q2pro

Beta 2 will still take a little longer to finish. In the meantime, attached is a test build before that comes along.

It's a huge step forward from beta 1 but I'm not happy with the LoS issues in the center, cramped center atrium and long rocket ledge. I think it may break the gameplay around there to the point that it's not up to beta standards... but the rest of the map could use some testing. Here's a short changelog:

- rescaled most of the map to fit the physics and gameplay far better, addressing that overly cramped feel especially around the pillars and stairwells.
- bridge is longer and so is the distance to the RG ledge, making it almost as challenging to jump across as it is in Q3
- tweaked item layout, replaced quad with mega spawn since using the entity overrides seemed to confuse some people
- improved lighting
- refined geometry especially around RG bend
- corrected various LoS issues

- refined geometry
- tweaked health pack layout (had too much health!)
- improved lighting
- fixed minor clipping issues
- improved rendering efficiency

Besides some texture alignments that need going over, I can't find any more issues that need fixing. So without any feedback it is for the most part it is almost in a final state.
