Quote from: Wherebear on June 26, 2013, 10:55:53 PMYes, that's what R1ch's client says, the one you are using and the one I just tried, again. After it says, "loading anticheat" it says the exact same thing as the Q2Pro client about, "not using anticheat" as you can see in the screenshot in my OP.Only a couple possibilities occur to me at this point:- Your antivirus software is ignoring your exception. (Others have indeed reported this in the past; I don't recall which AV software they used.)- anticheat.dll is being blocked by a software firewall, preventing it from connecting to r1ch's AC server. (I think it uses TCP for this connection.)Which Q2 names did you used to use?

Quote from: Wherebear on June 26, 2013, 08:58:24 PM...tried both Q2Pro and R1GL clients...That screenshot is from Q2PRO, which doesn't support anticheat - all of your testing needs to be done with either R1Q2 or AprQ2.Quote from: Wherebear on June 26, 2013, 08:58:24 PMI did try both q2 starter packages on the tastyspleen site both with and without anticheat.dll before, neither worked. Both gave the same message, as I stated in the OP..I tested a clean install of the R1Q2 version of the starter package and anticheat works fine for me on Win7 x64 with MSE installed.

You can use Q2PRO with anticheat but it must be one of the early versions. I think r178 is the version that Euros use to play on servers that use anticheat, but I have no clue where you will find that version online. I think you'd be better off asking someone online for that.Let me clarify then:The version of Q2PRO depicted in the screenshot doesn't support anticheat, nor does any version (that I know of) support it beyond r364, which is 4 years old now.

VaeVictis:i find it funny that you even consider grammar a sign of intelligence, that itself is a very uneducated claim
BTW, just go with r1q2 for the time being if you want to play. It'll be much better to be able to play, at least, rather than sitting SOL like you are now.

Make sure you have the latest r1q2 AND the latest AC downloaded and installed. If not, then yeah it's probably a software issue with your computer. You and quadz (console) should get on IRC together and troubleshoot. Probably be quicker.

Sometimes you just can't connect to the anti-cheat server. It might be your computer which in case you'll either need to reboot it, or it could be just that you can't get a physical connection to the server, which will only go away with time (hopefully).
banned for some reason.
Quote from: Burton on June 27, 2013, 02:05:58 PMbanned for some reason. My spidey sense is tingling. It tells me that maybe it's a good reason. But maybe not. I really have no evidence to support this "feeling". Other than the fact that he claims he played here back in 2010 and avoided giving any names by saying that he always changed his name. It's a tiny community and people around here tend to get to know people one way or another even if they do use different names all the time.It might help to know some of the previous names he's used if he can remember one or two of them. It might also help to know if he moved and where.
I don't remember which name I used, nor does it matter.
