Q3 on smartphone is innovative. However because it's a competitive game, i would think that is nearly useless. by no means are the controls equivalent to PC accessories. (keyboard mouse) while there may be a small portion of people that can more than adequately handle the controls and master them, it is a different layout and play will not be identical to that of their PC performance.  There may be play only from other smartphones. someone on a PC connecting to a server vs smartphone player is a huge advantage. That's just my opinion.

as for non competitive games, well i think the PSP and Vita beat out smartphones. while smart phones are just for the quick fun game when at work breaks or something.

It was a general statement, not necessarily related to quake2 stuff, ...because that stuffs high priority. I mean you can't deny it. People in general spend way too much time on their damn phones. You try to talk to your old lady about something and without fail, that damn phone rings and she's just gotta answer it. Then she talks for an hour about NOTHING, talking so loud on it that you can't hear the fuckin' TV over her yapping. Next time you're sitting in rush hour traffic, take a look around. Probably more than 60% of the drivers around you are fucking yapping on their phones. And when the traffic slows to a 1mph crawl, you can bet it's because someone up ahead of you was fucking with their phone instead of driving and caused an accident. Not to mention how often they come out with these new phones that everyone fights each other for the second they hit the shelves. "Ooooo, this one has a 1mm bigger screen! And it holds 2 megabytes more data! It's got apps for how to get rid of hemorrhoids and it's got a built-in blowtorch! HERE! TAKE MY 200 DOLLARS! PLEASE!"

And while I'm hating on phones... fuck the phone company too. Why do people gotta shoot up schools and shopping malls? Do the world a favor and frag some execs down at the fucking phone company. They get rid of the walkie talkie shit for most people because they realize that they aren't fucking all of us prepaid non-contract users quite as hard as they could be if they denied us the service and forced us to spend more money. My home telecom service was fucking me out of DSL bandwidth I was paying for for years until I called them to try to get my shit upgraded a notch, at which point the tech tells me that upgrading to get the speed I'm looking for ain't even necessary because I should ALREADY be getting that.

Fuck telemarketers too. They should have their testes ripped out by way of their belly buttons. Don't cut them off either, just leave the motherfuckers dangling there for them to see. It's gotten to the point that just about the only reason why I have a home hard line is just so these miserable shits can interrupt me at dinner time.

Lol.. Looks like I struck a nerve there... Sounds to me like that's more of a personal issue... Smartphones (atleast my iPhone anyways) is the best tool I have ever possessed... It makes my life easier, and makes me a more efficient person... For example, rather me wasting time sitting on the computer thinking of a reply, I can do it while sitting on the throne like I am now... In a general sense I can do everything from my phone, pay bills deposit checks, respond to exigent emails, and even order take out. For the manly man character you portray, I'd expect something better than the usual media driven "texting and driving" bunk.

I take my bike most places I ever go. Can't even count the number of times I've had people in cars who nearly run me off the road or mindlessly ride 2 feet off my back wheel while doing 75 or 80mph down the expressway all because they're fucking around with their phones and not concentrating on driving their automobiles (aka gasoline powered lethal weapons) properly. So yeah, that kinda shit I tend to take personal, and no, it's not media driven.
