Because it's the pub, and nobody in the history of ra2 has ever cared this hard about people using vent or teaming together on the pub server til 2dum made his triumphant return.  Kid wasn't around for the days of vapid and zeb0r(clearly cheating, and on a vent program) shitting on everyone on the pub or cc-Fierce and cc-dMyZe (who used to wave at each other through walls all the time, and vented harder than any other 2 people in ra2), and people used to laugh at watching these guys.  Sure you could ban em or kick em, but they'd always be right back anyway so everyone ended up learning how to just play better against these people.  Edit: and btw, these people would join the pub and it didn't matter if they made the team they joined +2, but they ALWAYS joined each others team and waited for someone else to switch.  And no one bitched about it then, someone just switched when they died.

What's funny is that in the real early stages of ra2 beta, there was no competition mode.  It was later added in a patch as an OPTION for match play, due to a "few" people asking to have it as an OPTION for real big matches like the RA2 World Cups that used to be huge events back then.  It didn't start becoming a regular thing in matches til awhile after it being introduced in a patch when ratbots/nosepaks became a huge issue when there was no anticheat of any sort back then.   So it was never a popular thing to be voted on/to be forced on in the server cfg, ever.  Even with obvious people cheating(vapid/zeb0r/fierce/dmyze), it hardly ever got voted on in pubs.  2dum just sucks zebra cock in ra2 and is looking for anything to whine about.  With or without vent, the end results will be the absolute same thing.  What 2dum says is actually false imo too when he says that no binds can ever match vent.  I actually use my binds more then I use vent when I play and here, I'll post my most used ones that are actually able to be just as accurate as me calling things out on vent, as r1q2 allows you to use the $loc_there feature, so when I'm at bottom double on map26(facks), and rail someone at single or mid, I hit my bind right away where I'm pointing at and shot the person at and it will say person railed at mid if I'm looking at the 2nd level mid on facks or if I'm pointing at the bottom at single it will say enemy railed at single.  And it's very accurate and I have set many loc parameters on each of the popular maps in ra2 in my map loc file so I can point at any spot on any map , hit my bind and it will say exactly where I'm pointing at and any dummy will know where I'm talking about since I made the loc names very easy to comprehend quickly so for the people not on vent with me, know where the person is and know if they're railed/low etc. 

My 2 most used binds:

ya and it doesn't matter if they have it on by default or not in qlive as you can free float AND use team chat to relay EXACTLY where people are at after you have died.  In ra2 at least when competition mode is on, it FORCES you to spec your team and it won't allow you to "un-spec" them to free float or any of that. 


Your uh, poll is getting shit on 2dum.  and if you spent the time you use to constantly whine to actually play and try, you'd prolly do a lot better.  Another funny thing is that you complain that people don't wanna play and stay spec or people leave because of us, well, uh there were like 2 people that after awhile, would NOT be on your team as they said it best, you suck.  They even said that you suck as a team player and don't help the team any, you play for yourself.  They wanted to stay on our team as we work together and have a fun time, not play like an idiot then whine when we get raped after we do something completely stupid to get ourselves killed. 

random actually connected to vent shortly after we had stopped playing and we were all using the text to speech option in the vent chat to have the TTS voice say some funny stuff to each other(hops,ex,random and myself), we tried to get you to join in, but you were too busy lurking and listening in on us like a creep(hops said you were prolly recording and I actually didn't think you'd be that gay), but apparently, I thought wrong.  I mean, the only reason you were in vent/had connected was because we told you to get on and have fun being dumb with us(hops/ex gave you the IP AND the PW to ACME's vent) and that's when you joined shortly after.  I actually think you'd have a good time if you would actually get on vent with us to talk shit or say stupid shit or do what I do every time I'm on and ex is there, just talk shit to him non-stop and try to get him to say something or try pissing him off(which is impossible because he knows we're just trolling him and ends up laughing about everything with us and calling us gay lol), he's a funny guy haha, and can take shit and fling it without getting mad.  Lets face it, this game/mod is old as fuck and we've played  every map to death and have had every possible thing happen on every map and we've seen it all, done it all etc etc etc, so I doubt we'll ever have more than 12 people on  and have a 6on6 going at any point to where we just have fun by playing, but when it's anything less than 4on4 or 3on3 imo it's real boring to play as there are barely anyone to rj  and it's more of a tryhard fest, the game is pretty boring and being on vent/saying stupid shit or just laughing at nothing, is fun.  We use it to relay info to each other when we are BOTH alive and on the same team, and we honestly use vent more to talk shit to each other and to use the TTS thing and make binds to say stupid shit and make everyone laugh more then we use it for teamplay.  We hardly ever use it to "ghost" people, as you like to call it.  The ONLY time I or anyone else uses it for "ghosting", is when someone on the other team is being dumb and is camping in the window or in a place to where they just hide like a faggot (bundle of sticks) and drag the game out to troll everyone.  qlive at least has a timelimit for rounds for when idiots do this in qlive and constantly hide/run like our good friend "CampingTroll", and will force a draw for the round.

Just seen this post.  But how many times have we raped you off so you could run to the forums to whine because you think you're the vae of ra2 for some reason, but you aren't even 1/3rd as good as him.  You are decent at best 2dum, but regarding this post, most of the time if I'm not playing with hops as my teammate in ra2 or someone who is somewhat competent, I'll leave too.  I mean, I barely ever try my hardest in ra2 as I am busy rjing around the map or using MG/shotgun to annoy people and distract them while my team does the killing hah.  But even at my worst, I'm still better as a teammate/solo  then you are at your best, which is sad cuz I'm not that good.  hops and I have been teammates for many years and were 2on2 partners for a couple different ladders (see the ra2 demo section,  http://forum.tastyspleen.net/quake/index.php?topic=15636.0 , NGL National Gaming League hosted a 2on2 ra2 tournament with 1st place prize of like 100 bucks in like 2009 which we won and never got paid for haha).  We know each others play styles and just play together good, so ya, I'd rather team with him every game so I don't have to play with an idiot (you) that runs/hides in the beggining (ltr), then spends the rest of the round trying his ass off to win when his team dies fighting 2on3. 

Its not about 1 bind or having any skill.

I actually only got booted off ONCE for when I hit my "lolnt" bind and that was because I hit it after I spammed my "enemy railed at loc_there" bind a couple times, and the rest of my boots were from me spamming my team binds cuz I didn't wait long enough after I hit my "lolnt" bind to where I could spam my team binds without getting a boot for spamming haha.  You ask anyone who has played on my team, I use my team binds a LOT.  Like I said in my last post, my binds are pretty coordinated and accurate so uh, they work just as well as vent does IMO and I use my binds WAY more than I do vent to call shit out to my team as whenever I hit my talk key and talk, it makes me real choppy and I'll start skipping/pjing while using it so I'm more inclined to use my binds instead.  9 outta 10 times when I hit someone with something, I'm normally in their face fighting them as I don't play like Fue|s/Vae and sit back and rail/play the hero, and I don't wanna lag by talking in vent and die to something stupid that hits me cuz I pjed for half a second.

Funny thing is, not one person has asked me to stop using my binds, not one.  And ya, we're the reason that quake is eventually gunna die out, not the fact that the game is 15 years old and there are NO active ladders/cups/tournies of ANY sort to keep people coming back.  ra2 was actually pretty set to die back in late 08 and it was worse population wise/getting games going then it is now.  But there was a guy that went by the name of jeremy/cyclo that created ltr(after we got a bunch of people back and got OGL going again), that messaged me and wanted to bring people back to ra2 with my help.  He did most of the spamming/posting to every known gaming forum/irc channel etc to say that ra2 is making a comeback and how to get q2 set up, and I spammed a bunch of irc channels/servers and we were able get hundreds of people back, even had 2-3 servers full of people going at all times of the day, not just at night, there were like 8-10 ra2 servers, I was running 2, one for pub one for matches based outta CHI for my clan (atr0x) with fuels/smaka/[eL]FiZziLiMe/mTao/Davey.  We had over 12 teams at one point playing regular matches on OGL every week.  I played the same way, spammed the same shit, teamed with hops all the time with all those people and hardly anyone complained about it like you do.  I did get muted for awhile when I kept harassing someone over and over and they complained to quadz about it, but I was relentless in my attacks so I deserved it.  I even got a quote from betty.ltr that I like, as he actually hits it dead on the nail with what he says:

ra2 has always been a shit talking mod and a mod that isn't for someone who has thin skin.  Just amazes me that someone as bad as betty can take things so much more lightly and not whine like you do.  Roger Wilco, vent, mumble, have all been a part of ra2 throughout the years and everyone has accepted it, and have always assumed the other team is using it over the years and would play more carefully/sporatic to mess people up.  Every game on xbox live/ps3 people use headphones with mics, pretty much any game that comes out anymore for the CPU, bases most of it's teamplay communication around people using mics and not binds.  So I'd suggest you get used to people using vent or anything of the sort to communicate with their team asap as every game allows it and it's not cheating.  Faster you get used to it and quit whining, the more time you'll have to actually play

the thing that is annoying is how hops was acting... and when hops is being a dick, any other ctf player is going to be a dick because they have their noses so far up his ass they have fused their conscious with his... going "haha you are so bad" "OWNED NOOBS YOU FAIL JUST QUIT" every fucking frag, even if it ends up being like a 4v1 all chain tear up is what makes people not want to play... people play to have fun, and no one has fun with some one as arrogant as that around... that is what i meant when i said they are the reason less people want to play

If you want to knock them for getting on vent with their little circle jerks, the problem is less the vent and more than the teams are always stacked... It was the 3 in vent and one decent player, vs me carrying 3 sub par players for like 2 hours the last time I played ra2... pretty lame that not one person would switch to even it out and have some closer games

The last 5x we played Faks, (the only map you are addicted too because its so large your vent-ing has maximum effect) I find myself going 1v3 against you assholes from the start, so saying i camp is another bold lie.

Uh, I get kicked off more for my team binds then anything because my mwheel gets stuck either up or down, whichever bind I go for as it's a 2 year old deathadder(time to get a new one).  If I'm annoying people or pissing anyone off or running people off, then why hasn't one person asked me to stop besides you?  And with r1q2, it's beyond easy to ignore someone so all this whining you're doing is laughable.  flame on!
