so after a long night of 5v5 ra2 i was adamant that a guy named "Better than u" aka h0ps was wall hacking and i posted my concerns in irc when ex the snake revealed that they were using ventrillo to tell each other where we were:

you have accused me of walling before in ra2...sometimes jokingly, sometimes directly after corner shots. so why should any of these opinions via q2 ignoramuses hold any weight to me?

we can't ban the use of vent, it's a valid teamplay option... but, ex is fooling himself if he thinks he's allowed to ghost people then brag about it afterward.

just post demos of suspicious stuff(or nothing will ever be done), and condumps if he ever stupidly admits to doing so again. in the mean time though, step up the proper ra2 strategy and mentality, and ghosting won't be as much of an issue(hint: just because vae newbs people on the ra2 server while doing nothing basically, doesn't mean that he's doing something right. it means everyone else is doing something wrong).. to relate, ghosting would only help me if I had somehow completely lost track of someone and they were hiding somewhere golgo-style. the likelihood of this happening isn't too good.

by the way, is this thread to complain about ex or make fun of him? I can't tell.

haunted's right when he says that Ventrilo is a completely optional tool for teamplay, and there's no way to even ban it in the first place. Doesn't TS have it's own Ventrilo server anyway?

Besides, do you even know how Ventrilo is used? If they're on a team with each other and telling other peoples' locations, then that's EXACTLY how Ventrilo is used in teamplay. It's a different story if you're dueling and you have someone in spec ghosting the other persons location the entire time. With binds and Ventrilo, you have more than one way of telling your team where the enemies are, which is what you're supposed to do in teamplay.

Also, why the fuck are you still posting? Literally every single post you have on here is either incomprehensible or whining about some guy you think is wallhacking when you have absolutely zero proof. Kindly shut the fuck up and stop shitting up #ts.

To be fair, in ra2 it's frowned upon to give the location of the other teams players in Vent, or even mm2, after your dead. The default pickup settings allow you to chase any player after death, so it's easy to find out where the other guy is and give locations to team mates that are still alive.

That's what's happening here I'm pretty sure. It's been going on in ra2 pubs matches forever, so I don't think it warrants any real action. But probably not a good idea to just blatantly admit to doing it...and if that was hops, it was completely unnecessary for ex to feed him that info...unless 2d was blatantly stalling or hiding, which in normal ra2 just as often gets your location  called out over mm1 for stalling.

In ra2 clan match play, the game is set to only allow team spec when waiting for the next round to start so feeding location isn't as much of an issue.

Yes that's me. I wont deny it. When i came back to quake 2 i was updating my pak with the "Glow" skins and etc. I had downloaded faulty paks and i didnt know why i was being kicked. Both paks had rocket spikes and i was playing on rail server when i got kicked.  I have no means to cheat, never have never will. I play jump mod to much. It was an honest mistake. From that day fourth, i have not been kicked except for the occasional lag kicks on jump mod. I am sorry for the "cheat" logs.

blue meanie is exactly right. no one gives info when they die. its severely frowned upon. for them to be doing it is fucked up. If you were on ra2-match server, match settings would be in place so even if you die, you would not be able to spec the opposite team. ex and h0ps were gaying us hard. I wasn't camping. the battles would narrow down to 2v1 or 1v1, and they always knew exactly where and how to kill us. it got annoying. but i still got in many kills against them. their using ventrilo only prevented a massacre on their end. lmao. fu ex

Personally, I don't see what the issue is.

First off, we weren't using the TS vent server, it was a completely separate one.  On top of that, "ghosting" as haunted put it, is perfectly fine and actually, yes I can brag about it, because as far as I can tell, there are no rules specifically against doing so.  So get as mad as you like, 2dum, because unless you set competition mode ON for each match to prevent that from happening, YOU end up looking like the idiot for not setting that up.

But of course, you look like a far bigger idiot for this reason:  It's fucking PUB RA2.  It is not OGL.  It's not even organized matches we play.  It's bullshit, join-up-and-spam rocket arena.  There is nothing to complain about, except of course for your shattered ego.

And like I said, I had the same thing done to me over the years at different servers and in different mods.  The ONLY time it mattered to me is when someone was doing it in an organized tourney, a cup, a ladder, etc.  And you know how many times that has actually happened?  Zero.

In short, get the fuck over it.  I'm sure no one gives a shit about this, except for the comedic value inherent.


I guess the only thing that is a little bit of a letdown is cr33pz.  I thought we were on good terms with eachother in game.  I guess I was wrong.  But I am always glad to know what people truly think of me.  I don't hold back with what I think of others, so the letdown in cr33pz is that he isn't a man and didn't say those things to my face in-game.  I will always respect someone saying I'm a piece of shit so long as they say it direct.  I've lost a lot of respect for cr33pz today.

You just described the PRECISE reason 2dum was being ghosted continually.  All he was fucking doing was +walking and hiding.  It's the only fucking way he can have a chance at winning, hiding and waiting for someone to run around a corner and spam them to death.

That is EXACTLY what 2dum was doing.  Almost every round he'd be hiding somewhere refusing to make a sound, intentionally stalling in the hopes that he would spam us to death for not knowing where he was.

Trust me, if he would just go in the arena and die, there would be no need for us TO ghost him.  But until he does start playing like a man, I will continually ghost him and he can just get the fuck over it, until he learns how to not play like a scared little bitch.

I mean seriously, I fucking hide a lot but he hides and +walks even more than I do.  That's saying something.  People start bitching bad if I hide and slow up the game hardly at all, and 2dum does it 10x as much.

You really do live up to your name, 2dum.  If you want everyone to "have fun" without competition mode, you can't complain when someone uses Ventrilo against you.  You haven't ONCE stopped to consider that, hey, maybe THAT is fun to us just as much as you hiding and waiting to gay someone is fun to you!
