We got some wind but that's it. I guess we were in a sweet spot though... people in lake Erie & Ontario had waves between 10-20 feet, flooding, etc. I didn't even see a branch down today.

I'm right by the northern coast, not far from the VA line. Near Elizabeth City. The Outer Banks are a short drive away

Yeah, I live on a hill inland basically. No major bodies of water over here to flood the streets. My power NEVER got knocked out either. There were 3 second power surges occasionally, but other than that, it was just a really rainy day.

Finally got my power back at noon Thursday...and just cleaned out the rotting food in my freezer the hour before. Won't complain,though: I've been damnlucky compared to many folk..inconvenience is better than decimation and death,and that has been visited upon countless thousands.I must applaude New Jersey govenor Chris Christie for one thing...he was asked in an interview what would he do if Romney came by to "tour" the results of Sandy,and he replied with correct disdain" I have no interest in such things,I have a state that's out of power and I have a job to do",more or less. Romney was in Florida and halfheartedly decided to turn his campain stop into a Food Drive instead. Isn't he a govenor himself? Does he have no interest in what's happening to his state?If America elects HIM,they will DESERVE what he does to them.

I've never thought that interpreting the actions of those who oppose your political ideals in a negative context as a rule was ever a decent approach to take with things like this. People would seemingly rather be more polarized though:
