Somebody did say "Hell is Other People". One could get a huge TV HD 3d the latest and best from those rent to Own stores with the money you'd spend taking two people anywhere for dinner and a movie easily. And the experience of watching my girlfriend's TV amazed me with how DVDs I've watched a thousand times suddenly looked Lifelike and Real! At times the TV seemed to be the viewport of some HoloDeck and this was a live feed of people walking around. I watched Time Bandits by Terry Gilliam ,and I was astonished at the clarity of it,and its NOT a Blueray. I can imagine what THAT is like...

But instead of enduring just the logistics of getting to and from a theatre,never mind what ballistics the latest copycat of a copycat is packing and awaiting his opportunity to spring into the headlines for a lurid firework's worth of fame. A Horror endures,fame does not.If you want to Put an Everlasting Mark on Mankind,try Building something,Creating something Being a Positive force on the planet.Even small scale everyday kindness is appreciated by all and never truely wasted,so easy to do and no real loss to ourselves. Pity. But as for Coccooning,I'm all for it on many levels and sitting at home watching the latest DVD release instead of a lot of bother and risk sound jim dandy to Me,but then again I got a girlfriend soley to have a reason to go out. Even her Kid is afraid of seeing Batman now...perhaps wisely. I am a homebody and need to be pried out of my door with a crowbar,but now I look for interesting places to take them...all the cool places I wouldn't go alone to. I'd go see a movie by myselfbecause I work nights and I go to the first showing and have the theatre to myself sometimes.But it is a bother...and I rarely go.I prefer the convenience of the internet for my entertainment,and my girlfriend is all the social life I need.I have better uses for my time,which is best spent alone. Oning it forever,or streaming it to your TV where it'd look like something like Star Trek would be perfect for "me".Then again I have an art career being assembled and I cannot imagine what people with no ambitions Do all day.Not for long,anyhow.  But it IS getting Crazy out there,and my favorite part of my apartment is the LOCK on the DOOR.Other people aren't so lucky...and I can well imagine something similar happening at my own job,which has money and few people actually paying attention to you being busy at work or outside smoking ciggarettes. I am in my own little world listening to either the radio in the early part of the night,or my MP3 collection,then after first break I listen to audiobooks,radio dramasand comedy series. The BBC still producea lot of that stuff still,radio dramas and serials,and sound conjures the best special effects arround:imagination. But,athough I have made manual labour tolerable,and its almost pleasant rebuilding the pyrimids every night,I still am often facing a shelf with earbuds on listening intently and blisfully unaware of whatever is walking about.Well,I DO keep an ear out,but an armed robbery or some unruly customer could get ugly quickly.It has yet to happen.But if we are now all playing the percentages of Life I feel I am less likely to get randomly caught in the shit like someone who is working a 9-5 job and having to deal hands on with commerce. We have crime too,mainly pilferage crazed shoplifters. Rich kids who drive down in cars Daddy bought them think nothing of stuffing all sorts of stuff and running out. No shame,no real conscience in their eyes.There are also the opportunists who run out wigth all expensive bunches of items for selling. One guy runs out with those enormous 10 gallon jugs of Tide? Its like Gold,15 bucks a bottle and the guy just stuffs a carrige full of them and runs to his car.easily 30 can be gotten away at this time.Maybe more...450 bucks worth of marketable soap.Our chain doesn't care really:its called Shrink and just a tax dodge,and its too much of a bother to procecute them,so why bother with security? Actually, in this case, it does matter.  The software I use to play these files are freeware and available to the public via legal downloads.  Has nothing to do with the file being played on them.  So no, you are incorrect in this case.
