A list of servers

Well, I got bored, and this is the result, Quake 2 Servers.

I thought this might be a good idea, so if everyone likes it I'll keep it up.

Just download the q3plug, unzip it and follow the directions in the readme file.

I only have xquake and the Tastyspleen servers listed on there right now, but if anyone wants a server added to it just post the IP here.

Nice Job, Solo...the plugin crashes my IE, though.  Works fine in Firefox, however.  

I agree on adding the Xquake server itself to the list, unless I missed it.

Slikk, There is a patch/fix for the q3plug for IE, I can't find the link for it tho... sorry

the patch file (reg file) is part of the plugin download.  I applied it, and closed all IE windows and reopened them.  However, I didn't reboot, which is necessary most of the time for registry changes to become effective, so I'll check that later today when I get home from work.

I wasn't aware there were other ports on xquake, if someone lets me know which ports they are I'll add them.

xquake is the first server listed.

Doh!  I only had a minute when I first checked it out this morning, so I missed that.  I thought the Mutant server was first on the list. Anyway, my bad.

I have to think that with XP Service Pack 2, MS really put the clamps on Netscape-type plugins in IE.  Even with the registry/patch file, it still doesn't work.  

One odd thing about the registry patch file, however.  There's a DWORD value for an ActiveX Compatibility entry.  The DWORD value for this plugin is 00000.  However, when I looked at all the other ActiveX Compatibility entries in my registry (there were about 20 or so other than this plugin), all the DWORD values were something OTHER than 00000, meaning they all had some kind of numerical value greater than 0.  

I'm wondering if the patch writers got that correct.  Seems unlikely given the fact that all the other entries that I have each have their own DWORD positive value.

Slikkster, I don't know why it crashes your IE, I have SP2 and it works fine for me.

It messed up for me when I first tried the Q3plug after installing SP2.  It somehow fixed itself...  It might have been after I rebooted.  All I know was it didn't work for a few days and one day I pulled up a site with q3plugs and they all showed up.   :shock:
