re: Q3Plug crashing...Well, maybe it's some security setting I'm not aware of.

And as far as using XP, it's pretty good for gaming. Not quite Win98.

I will be reinstalling Win98 in a separate partition, though, so's I can compete better with some of you slugs, lol. It's a bit of a process, as I had to convert an NTFS C: partition back to Fat32 (My XP install is on a separate drive, but all drives were NTFS), then create a new partition of about 10Gigs for Win98. Then, I'll have to do a Sys C: and install Win98 in the different partition. Then, a quick debug program to create a bootsect.dos file. Then, a "FixBoot" to get the XP Bootloader back. heheh.

lol!I know it's a deal to take care of... My mom-in-law has XP and I help her out when I can with updates and whatnot-LOL that service pack2 was ENORMOUS!...LOL you would think with all of Micro$ofts resources, their web access would include some decent bandwidth- that thing took forever to d/l...

just goes to show- best thing about Micro$oft is their marketing team!

Solo, I tried to connect to the tasty spleen experimental server using the q3 plug, but it gives me a "bad server address"...

To connect to xquake I have no problem-

I added them.

I have a problem using that join button too.

Maybe it's an issue with the plugin.

maybe cuz i started using nocheat...

I haven't tried it using the q2.exe instead...will try it later

Awakening 2 rules! very very fun mod- totally configurable on server side with many vote options client side- I helped with beta testing and many of us gave Musashi very defenite opinions on what we would like it to be...he is now working on adding bot support! very cool stuff indeed...

the mod has 4 gameplay options: FFA deathmatch, CTF (Threewave style), Team DM, and Assault...all with custom maps that come with the mod.
you should check it out EyE-sTrAiN is correct - it is a blast!

Hey Slik! I wouldn't worry too much about the DWORD value for that plugin. Although a zeroed field usually means the function or feature is disabled, it's kinda hard to say how that relates.

If I get a chance in the next few days I'll build an XP box, download it and have a look.

Meanwhile you could load Foxfire... :wink:

Does it matter how long a page gets, other than having to scroll? Or does it take too long to load or something?
