You the players make this fun gaming experience possible, and letting us know what you all would like to see in the future is very important! We especially love fresh ideas for weapons which are unique, as well as other features like spawns, runes & airstrikes! Some things like custom defined monsters by override should be coming, as well as dynamic balancing to ease skill gaps of players and more! So please voice anything you'd all like to see!

More types of spawn monsters. I seem to remember the doberman being an unimplimented option but the fiend would be hilarious. Does the Virus spawn give credit to the person who made it when it gets a frag?

I said it before, but the passive Action Quake jumpkick would rock. It seems perfectly suited to this type of crazy action because you can send someone flying across even huge maps with a good boot.

The sticking fire is really well-implimented in WODX, but it would be cool if it had thawing properties on frozen stuff...I feel like a chump when I'm frozen and on fire. You could make different types of damage interact, like making the lightning gun shrapnal-explode frozen players! Lightning gun should also have stun to make it more lightningy and worthy of sharing the BFG slot.

More monster spawns should be a part of the monster override system as well eventually. Runes defined in overrides will probably be used to regulate how many different types are available per match, since we can overload things if we don't start doing that kind of thing. Possibly even weapons too will be custom if concept tests work out, we float lots of wild ideas, and sometimes they do become quite possible! I definitely want to see more damage types and effects related to them that gives an extra layer of depth to this experience, like lightning guns and grenades causing arcs between players and shorting certain things out, radiation weapons like plutonium grenades, blaster etc, and contagions which are planned as well with syringes that can make zombies out of players and etc  :P!

Also on the matter of maps be sure to voice anything you feel about what you find on the server as well, there are LOTS of maps and sometimes things fall through the cracks, I am due sometime when I can to refine the maplists (variable depending on server load) and clean out some of the suckier maps and increase odds of higher grade maps being selected randomly. So be sure to state anything about maps that you think should be addressed!

There's a mappack with all Doom 1 Knee Deep in the Dead levels HERE that could be pretty fun if someone can remix them to have spawnpoints. Sometimes the ceiling height can be too low in doorways but it's pretty uncommon.

I plan on adding Quake 1 zombies though, which use chunks of their flesh as projectiles. When they score a hit on someone, the new hosts become steadily infected and die, after a short while they rise from the dead and repeat the whole devious cycle over again. I will probably need to modify the Q1 zombie animation frames to make them move like x10 the original speed in order to make them remotely effective against the fast paced ground and air traffic of wodx.  ::)

The monster stuff is all on the way. It took longer then expected because I needed a proper delivery method to support dozens or even hundreds of new monsters! I even wrote a model converter to be able to import monsters from quake1 for this reason. Also the new system should all work from .overrides,  so anyone who chooses will be able to create their own variations and tweak them endlessly. Don't be surprised if one day you run into crazy glowing Shamblers with different powers, ranging from that of a snow yeti to a fire casting menace.   :D

I'd like for the new weapon system to work in a similar way, where anyone will be able to derive from base classes and tweak them to create unlimited number of weapons! Anything ranging from assault rifles to nuclear missile silos should be possible!

The virus doesn't give credits ATM. As far as your idea to add jumpkick as well as ice-fire-lightning interaction, I like it, so it'll be considered for the next release.

I think I've found what you're talking about. But, before I can add them to the sever I'll need to fix a slight problem with the textures.
They appear to have been converted incorrectly, cause to me the colors appear faded and bleached out, and do a disservice to the Q1 experience.
I'll need to convert them again, this time tweaking the output gamma levels slightly and shifting the palette colors a bit, to make them retain more color information.

I always want to see more maps from Quake1 and Doom! As it happens, by looking into Cuke's request, I've also run into 4 doom episodes and all associated maps, including the kneedeep pack you linked.
The only objections to adding them, is the height of the ceilings which could be a bit of a problem! It might impede the overall game-play and prevent players from hopping around as usual.
Either way I think we should give it a go and see how it goes.

Always wanted to see an ability to do spell-like shit to people.  Similar to the gravitron, but far worse, because as dictated by the amount of whatever ammo combinations you have, you can have the ability to lift these people in the sky, spin them around and SMASH them into whatever walls or floors you choose, or even send them into oblivion upwards into the sky of the map lol, like say if they pull out a super-powered gun on you and think they have the upper hand, but you picked up the rune and have enough cells+bullets+slugs or whatever to do the spell on their ass.

To be fair, the player should have a LOT of ammo combined to make this trick not be gay and overpowering.

Would be a fun idea if possible.

This is not a weapon request but a audio request. It would be good to hear more sound/song bites if possible when entering a room. Their are a few maps that have some cool song bites when you go in but I can't recall which ones. One existing bite is "error examine" for example. I know it can be sometimes over the top but more songs added to maps would rock.

Hey there, welcome Loose!

I have done that on a few occasions on some maps where I felt it would seem appropriate, even global with subtle ambient sort of tracks on occasion I have done as well and plan to do more of too! Sound can be the third major element in a maps theme that completes the overall feel I desire to give along with lighting and textures! I am going to be having an increased focus again on entity overrides in the coming weeks so I will see to it more stuff like that is implemented that I have long intended!
