Hi and Welcome to this brand new Weapons of Destruction section!

 

I'm Ruiner, the creator of WOD-X and the administrator of the popular Whale Server. I'll also be your moderator here.
Most game mods already have a presence here on Tastyspleen, so I figured why not Wod?
After all its 2012, the world might end, but its never too late to be open for business here at Tastyspleen! 

Now we can have a section for all us wod players to voice our concerns, suggest ideas, and make feature requests.
I'll do my best to accommodate them... time permitted.
Also I hope to use this section to share new mod releases, maps, as well as various support applications that I've written, and
hopefully they can become as useful to others as they have been for us.

Welcome Cuke! I've always had fun with our good times together on the servers, will be great having you here and will enjoy to have your inputs here!

I am the primary manager of both the Weapons docs and instructions for the tools made, I shall be bringing it all here soon as I can for everyone's convenience and will be refining them as well! There is a lot in works right now in both the weapons mod and tools that is totally new and never before seen and we are very excited about getting ever closer to the point we can unveil them! We welcome you all and hope you find the upcoming stuff both useful, fun & innovative!

The only problem with your awesome server is this dickhead named "poser" who aliases on several aliases always talking shit to me.  What's particularly troublesome is he has shit bound to keys only to talk shit to me in game.  He must be in love with me.   If you could take care of him, your server would be a 10+ rating from me.  With him, he drags it down to a 7.  :<

Whale is indeed a fun place to play. I don't really see a problem with a little competitive trash talk though, and I don't do hits, unless the shit talk is directed towards our server admins.
I expect players to work it out amongst themselves, and settle things on the battle field. I would really like to stay clear of baby sitting as much as I can. I hope you can understand its not just server issues I have to deal with. Having said that, some players are indeed "too" good, and hard to beat as a result of exploitation. There are a few unbalanced features currently in the mod which I hope to resolve in time in order to make it a 10+, hopefully regardless of your feelings for poser.

Hey Ruiner and everyone else! Thanks for the server, mod and this forum.

I play as CYBER BULLY or NONJA. I talk shite some of the time but I'm legit and not always a dick. My favourite weapons are snipey headshot guns and melee. Meteor is the only airstrike worthwhile. Only cocks use the gravitron. I'm not poser (he's a prick). Look forward to keeping up with the development (playing since 1.03) and WODX has really grown into a huge and inspired mod with a steady community.


I've got beef with this --> though since I run a mac and certain B1TCH clients don't support it. It's a slap in the face to try to log into a server on a 15?-year-old game only to get booted by that stuff.

I've rambled long enough.

This isn't trolling, but perhaps some of you whale and wodx-ers should take the time the educate yourselves about what a cheat is and isn't. You hear people complaining about players cheating just about everywhere, but no where is it done with more frequency and inaccuracy than on the whale and wodx servers. I've been there very rarely, but every time I do, I get someone calling me a cheater. I'm too damn lazy to bind the hook, so what makes someone think I'll take even more time to load up some cheats properly? There are plenty of examples HERE to show anyone what a cheat looks like. People need to do some research before accusing everyone.

Thanks for stopping by and voicing your opinion! I think this whole matter has been totally misunderstood, and blown out of proportion by crafty trolls.
Personally I haven't seen anyone actively cheat on Whale or Wodx servers for years!
It's also been proven that anti-cheat is outdated, is no longer updated, and cant hardly stop kiddy scripts, so I might as well remove it.

The reason why anti cheat was forced was to get rid of a stubborn and obnoxious prick who for whatever reason refused to temporarily use r1q2, and who I will not name.
He found himself thinking he's above the law. He gambled against the house and lost, and till this day he cant get over it.
It's worth pointing out that in the end he wasn't banned for cheating but for his total lack of respect, and disregard for our simple rules.
Only a handful of people have ever been banned from whale, maybe 3? Most people come to their senses after being warned a couple times,
but if you're a spoiled brat trolling from your mommy's closet 24/7, and your balls haven't dropped yet, this life has a reality check and some harsh lessons in store for you.
I personally cant let some 15 year old kid, who doesn't know shit about shit, who was still in diapers when this game came out, constantly shit talk to our admins and tell them how to run the place, so he had to go.


As far as the cheater calling goes, if it makes them feel better about them sulking in defeats, oh well.
Even though I wish they'd cut it out, and I told them to stop, I'm not going to ban anyone for it.

Hello, nice to get to know some of the other players, after all this is sort of social. I see the same handfull of people I like to play with and we always have a few good hours of fun. Thats what it is, fun, its not a competition to me anymore and have never understood the need to cheat with any aimbot. A few of the noob weiners have called me a cheater, but they usually stand in one spot most of the time and cant figure out why they get ran over every 2 seconds.

Synod was a clan back in the  early 2000's as far as I know there were only 3 of us, we were bastards back then when clans were the big thing. our whole main goal was to piss people off by binding off color remarks and needling players everytime they got killed, It was fun to start a flame war and watch everyone melt down I guess. The other guy I remember Vegeta was an airline pilot that lived in chigago. Sometime in mid 2006 he got a got a job flying freight for AMR and gave up playing. I havent heard from him since and thats when I quit playing, I got the bug to install this again in November and enjoy the new weapons and carnage. The only reason I still use this <synod>MEZZ name is in case the other 2 members happen to load WOD again, maybe they can find me and we can catch up on whats been going on for the last 6 yrs.

In anycase NIN has the best server, its not watered down for the pansies which was our thing back in the day. While many servers of the time were banning the powerful weapons we would encourage the destruction and promoted the carnage, sadly there is only 1 page left of the old website, its here if interested.

Glad you finally made it!
I got to say your old website is straight to the point, no bullshit
Also your old clan, is da shit.. almost reminds me of some of NIN's competition back in the day.
For us it was sweepers, cataclysm and most of all napalm, lots and lots of napalm!
It's always great to catch up on all the years that have passed. And its hard to believe that this game is already 14 years old.
Makes me feel very old 

Over the years we've had quite a few old players come back to us, just by finding some odd
bit here or there. So I wouldn't be surprised if one of your old friends finds this, if he only chooses to look.
It's all about using the right google keywords when talking about the places and the faces you used to know.
Surely the search engines will do the rest.

I'm surprised it took us so long to setup a community here, one that's free of NIN's clan politics of course.
But now that its here, lets stay connected, and build some lasting online friendships, if there's such a thing.

I wouldn't say that it's outdated. It still works, but only if the person using the cheats is using anticheat. Seriously, that's not smart at all if what you're trying to do is keep the riff-raff out. If everyone stops using AC, you have NO way to keep out ANY cheats. "It's been proven that anticheat is outdated (ie. useless).".... Really? By WHO? Show me this proof. We have a HUGE list of people its caught over the years to prove that it DOES work. So where is the proof to show that it DOESN'T?

I really wish people like you would stop telling everyone that AC is useless and ineffective or a virus or whatever other false thing people might chose to say about it. It's not true, and once some peabrain believes that it is true, they start spreading that misinformation even farther making it even harder to convince other people that it WORKS and to use it voluntarily.

If AC works for others, then good for them! I'm not saying they should stop using it, if it in fact does something for them. I just think if you're going to cheat in 2012 with so few players, you're an idiot.
But, lets drop this whole thing here, right now. I'm not getting into this whole anti-cheat discussion again, cause it's pointless. Lets just say I don't care about AC, for all the false positives. I only got on the band wagon thinking it'd make my life easier. Once it stopped being updated, it stopped being relevant, or effective rather, just like with any discontinued anti virus program, cause it doesn't stop anyone who gets their hands on a new hack from getting through. It doesn't take much for others to download a copy. I think most people can all agree its hard to stop it from spreading after that. We even tested this theory with some shitty bot script, that shot for us, and wasn't detected. There's an old thread about it somewhere. I don't think anyone wants me to post the proof, unless they want to degrade AC even more. I'll be happy to submit it to r1ch once he resumes work on it. If other admins choose to use AC, that's fine, but unless it's updated again, and made to work with a mac, I'll pass. The best anti cheat is and will always be an observant server admin!
