The teacher didn't pose with the stripper and the teacher didn't post the photo. A friend posted a photo containing the stripper in which the teacher happened to be in the photo.

Doesn't matter. It's a liability for the school. If they became aware of the picture and did nothing in response, then one day down the road perhaps she was caught having inappropriate contact with a student, the parents of that student might find out that they were aware of that teachers off-duty behaviors such as visiting sex/adult clubs, which would give the parents more legal ground to stand on while claiming the school was negligent for allowing her to continue to have daily contact with hundreds of children. That's just the way schools are these days. They suspend kids who are caught with a bottle of Aspirin the same as they suspend kids caught with cocaine. Saw on the news just the other day where they suspended a kid caught with a bottle of Afrin nasal spray. Because some parents are so sue-happy, they're forced to take idiotic extreme measures like that to protect themselves from legal liability.

Back when I used to hang out at local BDSM/swingers clubs with an ex-girlfriend, we had a friend who we'd often sit in the lounge or billiard room and chat with. She was a public school teacher. She was VERY cautious not to ever allow any of her co-workers to find out about her off-the-clock lifestyle choices. She never posted pictures of herself on any BDSM related messageboard or website, never used her real name, and never let any of her friends take pictures of her either.

I can't sympathize with one teacher losing her job over such a picture. Plenty of other people can prevent that shit. If her friend made the bonehead decision to do it, then she obviously needs different friends who aren't so stupid and careless. I've posted a few pictures online before, and some of them had other people in them. I always make sure crop out 100% of anyone else in any picture I post anywhere (unless I have a good reason to leave that other person in the picture AND I have their full expressed permission to do so).

Yeah. That's the mistake people are making by relying too heavily on email. It's putting the US Postal Service out of business. And your snail mail is ABSOLUTELY secure from such bullshit. The government takes that shit so serious that it's actually AGAINST THE LAW for anyone other than the resident of a home or the postal worker to open your mailbox. A law that can be a little of a pain in the ass sometimes. I hate these assholes that drive around taping flyers and shit to the outside of my mailbox (because it's against the law for them to open the mailbox to put it inside). In the summertime when it's hotter than Hell, the adhesive on the tape bakes onto the paint and leaves a spot when I pull it off.

Simple solution if you DO use FB: make it private to only close friends and family, use a different e-mail addy from the one you use for work purposes, make it non-searchable and set your profile pic to the Q2 symbol.

Facebook is one greatest non-genius yet somehow totally genius farces pulled on the short-sighted masses in the past 10 years. They get everyone to sign up and broadcast all of the intimate details about their lives WILLINGLY. It's free. You know why? Because now the government can peer into your life with complete impunity because you volunteer the information. Companies can conduct surveys and research based on what you post in order to solicit a more marketable product and custom tailor their advertising to achieve maximum effect. It's probably also quite a handy tool for criminals to use. People voluntarily post photos taken in their homes, talk about their daily schedules, and effectively provide criminals with a layout of their homes, the most opportune time to rob it without any being there, and the locations of desirable items within the home for stealing. They can see which exact window they should smash in order to retrieve the item quickly, leave the scene, and have the most minimum risk possible of being caught.

Honestly, there's nothing wonderful about Facebook. Before Facebook, people were still "friends", and they actually TALKED to one another to relay information rather than posting it on a website.
