At the moment I am trying to construct the illustration that will go onto the website as its template image,the one that'll be on nearly every page.

After struggling to draw the penultimate JP head,and failing,I am canniblizing an old picture and adding new elements...

This is the original I am taking from,mainly the JP and some of the branches...



Did a new fairy,and working on my patented Evil Mushrooms for her to be doing "something" with,Lord knows what...

I am working towards making a webcomic called the World of Jeremey Prickles...something I can work on in my spare time and update often enough for a following to stay. And it is sort of a Childrens book,but a subversive one. Other webcomics I follow collect the things they post and sell them in book form,along with additional content not online,which is a sound idea. What I need to do is make sure of my rights to my intellectual property. Even though I have the domain name for a decade and content there unchanged for over half of that,some corporation who wants to stick Jeremey in a happy Meal as a figurine produced by slave labour in China,all they need do is hide behind lawyers un til I bankrupt myself reclaiming what's mine. I want to tell his stories as I see fit,and not have to bow to an anonymous collection of Suits dictating to me what's marketable. But I'll research all that when I am closer to going Live.

I have 2 chapters of a graphic novel up already,and one complete story that introduces most of the major characters. I draw everything in pencil and use Photoshop to hammer the bits into panels. Its sometimes labour intensive,but I can get a lot of Stuff into a panel. This one has 80 seperate layers to it,and some parts were constructed of bits themselves...



In addition to the stuff already done,I'll keep folk visiting with a newspaper strip sized storyline I can knock out every other week with diligence.I have 35 or so storyboarded and the plot offers tons more...so I hope that'll be enough to get people interested. Here is the first storyboard...



I have my work cut out for me...so stay tuned!

Well,it had to be changed,so I did...more shrooms,a better background...a few tweaks,and NOW I can move on to designing the rest of the website!

This is a mock up of the website's template page. Its unfinished in most areas,but now you can get an idea of where I'm heading:a top banner with all the important link buttons above so the bottom is uncluttered. I think I'll go with the latest comic strip appearing on the front page along with the buttons to navigate through them as  they accumulate like at Order of the Stick. Or would a news blurb be better for when I update places other than the main strip,a la VGCats? The green borders of things will be leafy foliage I'll start drawing,and the buttons will be GIF animations that will do "something" when the cursor hovers over them...I'll just have to figure out what and how again. The Jeremey head on the right will be a link to news ...or something strange. I am always finding cool things online to visit,and I may toss these links there...but for now the next step is doing the artwork to fit the format.

Slowly but surely...it will happen!

Me and my friend just finished our latest web app and it's now stable and in the market. We start our next venture tomorrow and it's perfectly suited for the work you're doing and you'd be the perfect beta tester.




Assuming you've done your initial mock-up in Photoshop, you basically just upload your PSD file and out pops a fully compliant HTML/CSS Webpage. I've already written the code (for a prototype) but I'm still working out the quirks. Would love to have you test it out and give some feedback so I can better build the product. I'll keep you updated

Thanks but I won't be ready to put up anything for months yet. After the website bits are done I will be doing at least 10 strips before I go officially live,and I need to research the legalities as I do that so what I show to the world is officially undistputably mine.

And I have a web site maker I used years ago,and its a simple drag n drop for the elements and the program generates the HTML code for you.ITs how I did the site hosted here under my name and suits my purposes. You don't need me to make a site and fill it with images for you to test anything...

This is the whole reason I brought this to your attention. The web has its own scale. A unit of internet time is equivalent to the speed of light. You have to move, and you have to move fast. This was originally an internal tool because I was getting pissed at my friend for moving slower than ass and it's increased his productivity ten fold.

Again, by the time you're on your 12th comic strip, not only would I have closed the deal with Mcdonalds but I'd also be in negotiations with Ambiance brainstorming Jeremy Prickle dildo's and cock n ball rings. I can forgive Dr. Suess on paperback, but I won't forgive Jeremy on the internet.

Web based comics are a very lucrative business if you can reach popularity and following. This is why you see Dilbert and Co. transitioning to the web in favor of older, more traditional based media outlets such as newspapers. Jeremy might get a strip in the Sunday Times, but that's peanuts compared to the revenue and eyeballs he can get on the net. However, the demand and expectations are also greater.

It may suit your needs now, but when you have to push 10 comic strips live each day, come back and tell me how web studio 5 is holding up. I'm in the business of making things more efficient.

No,the comic strip will be at the website,its merely comic stripped sized chunks of story and they will be delivered in installments every other week. That's the rate I am projecting I can produce them at. I work 40-48 hours a week,so I won't have the time to do anything more. I have plenty of other content for people to see,one complete 15 page story introducing all the main characters,and 2 chapters of a graphic novel I will update maybe once a year with a new chapter. Also there will be other artworks,links to cool places and other nonsense. Never considered print at all,except later when I get enough strips accumulated to publish into book form. Its a sucessful business model of several webcomics I follow...

At this point all I want to do is tell Jeremey's stories,in a form I can produce often enough to generate a following. McDonalds can wait.
