The MS laser 6000 started to get uncomfortable for me so I bought the MS comfort optical, which I liked ok. Recently I bought the new MS Explorer 3.0, which I'm using now. It's nice to have 2 thumb buttons. Damiah told me he tried the MX518 for a little while but didn't like the adjustable sens buttons and went back to his MX510.
Here's a review of the HABU.

Hmm thanks ghost.
Well from reading that review I honestly don't think the guy who wrote it knew much about computers or installing new devices / drivers. I'm going to give it a shot... and if it sucks then I have a new mouse for work.

Since my last post I have gotten the mx518 and played with it for a few months then bought the new MSIE 3.0 and I'm glad I did..
even thought the 518 was a great gaming mouse I just couldn't get used to the shape, I think it almost gave me an RSI and I switched just in time.
Now that I've been playing with the 3.0 for a couple months I gotta say, this is THE BEST mouse I have used so far.. it doesn't have high dpi (only 400) liek the 518 but its just as smooth IMO. It feels more accurate and I'm in love with the shape, and it was less expensive than the 518.
MICROSOFT INTELLIMOUSE EXPLORER 3.0 FTW!
edit: I have heard from a few pro FPS players that the habu skips just like almost all laser mice.. I've never tried a laser mouse or the habu so I cant tell you what I think of it, but I don't plan on changing my optical any time soon.

IE 3.0 sounds promising. However I've already ordered the Habu so I'll try it out and let you guys know how it feels to me. I also ordered a surface for it so hopefully that will deal with any skipping problems or smoothness imbalances. If it fails my tests then it's back to optical with IE 3.0.

Kinda funny how everybody jumped on the reviewer (in the comments on the review) when he said the mouse was hard to install.

does this mean that i could be better if i upgraded from my $20 microsoft optical?
scary.
but seriously, if my mouse reads my desired movement as well as mine does, how much better can it get? do more $ 'meece' take more reads from the laser per second and therefore become more accurate? im guessing that when i flick my mouse for a nice bot-like rail shot, the more $ 'meece' will be more consistant with respect to how much wrist flick is required.
toodles
ps2 im coming for u...
