watch the other demo... they guy has two totally different chain techniques....

hmm.. maybe the combi/samuri demo was alot, ALOT, older and the combi/purri one was more recent.
so the extra experience would account for an improved chain, but I dont think so.

dont think I've ever called out BOT! or WALLER! in a serious fashion, I just dont give a damn.
play them and they eventually get bored with it and leave.

well.. called out a waller once on AW, but he was being so obvious. even said hell yeah he was when I
told the rest of the ffa group... guy sat at the top of the ele whole game... stand back.. target..
walk forward.. fire... over n over... oops!! watch for that guy coming from mega room... got him. then back
to railing the arena... maybe see if I can find it for the lamer demo section...

even though I had proof I let it go... the guy eventually left and we never saw him again,

I just watched it for the first time. He does seem awfully smooth with the chain. He doesn't seem "jerky" though, or unnaturally twitchy though with the chain, which is IMO more of a tell-tale sign of a bot. Bots aren't smooth, they twitch around as they "lock" onto the target. I just didn't see that twitchy-ness with his chain. I will say that Purri doesn't really change his direction of movement all that often though, when being chained that is. He sorta just strafes back and forth in a really tight spot often, which as long as you're not over-predicting with the chain, you just keep the chain in an almost fixed position and it'll chew up someone doing that tight of a strafe.

And where exactly did you get the 60-70% chain accuracy figure for that match?

My opinion is that it's awfully suspect, but certainly by no means obvious if you ask me. The lack of extreme jerkiness is what I didn't notice, and is what is usually apparent with bots.

countless times i have said that this demo has ALREADY been labeled as a bot and also referred to this site www.q2scene.net as well for any figures or any information about it.

Unfortunately, every game you'll play, there will be someone that cheats. and the more you complaon about it, it stil will not go away.. So like Omega says.. just bare with it, they'll eventually show their true colours or just disappear and you'll never see them again.

Actually when I saw Kobra messing around on a baron server, his chain was pretty smooth, no jerking, the only jerking you may see is the initial aiming at the user, when it jerks towards them, then you will see nothing but smooth near perfect aim staying on the target. note, he was using frkq2 there.

Its 100% obvious that he is cheating. If you still dont believe this do the following.

Watch the demo in Demoplay and when he starts chaining, press f6 (to go in slo motion), as you keep your eye on the crosshair, and the bullets. when the crosshair is near purri they are flying all around him, but as soon as the crosshair locks onto purri, all the bullets "HOME" onto him and do not hit anywhere in the background. What you see is a big red purri, all the bullets are hitting him and only him. There are no bullets on the wall or ground.

This is a different type of bot. The bot that most of you are familar with is the one where the bot "helps" your aim by moving your aim onto, or "locks onto" the opponent. In this case, the aim is 100% combis and he is not getting any aim assistance what so ever, what makes him a cheater is as soon as the crosshair is on Purri, the bot makes all the bullets hit Purri as if they were homing onto him.

If you can't see this, get your eyesight checked.

yeah really, I have seen H3ctor do some crazy things with a chaingun, I've never seen his accuracies before but they were up there, 30s and 40s % im sure, and I don't think he cheats

60% chain would be about the limit for a human player I think tho

my chain's rarely higher than 17 or 18% hehe

Hmm... As i understand it, what you're describing is theoretically impossible with the quake2 network protocol.

Clients can tell the server "i moved", "i turned", "i fired". The server does the rest. There's no way to tell the server, "i fired, but make this bullet move in a special way."

But yes, there are types of bots that let you do the aiming and the bot takes the shot at the 'correct' time. It still can't turn bullets into homing bullets, though.

Yes but the client can tell the server, I fired and I fired AT the opponent and no where else.
