I've got this vanilla server up and running with the infinite ammo setting and dm8 on for good. I thought people might start picking it up and playing because it was the same settings as an older popular server, nygang. Which was infamous, because it was so stupid and maddening it was fun. Anyways no one seems to play on it, so if you have some type of special mod you want to run on it or whatever send me a message.

good idea to name it after nygang, the server/clan that had the best track record of good sportsmanship, chill attitudes, and definitely an admin who welcomed people of high skill to compete on his quake 2 server. a man so humble he could be beaten a hundred times by someone and still give the ole gg.

by that i mean the complete opposite of that

I don't know who the admin of the server was, or any of the nygang players, but I know that was one of the most fun servers to play a game here and there on. It was totally ridiculous (I'd get the 30 frags in about 1 minute with chaingun). I know a lot of other players liked it, so that's why I named it nygang2. The server was always packed, but it looks like vanilla and ffa are the only packed servers now. Personally I would love to see another active server like the nygang server. Yes it was so stupid, that was the fun it in. Anyways if someone wants to run some kind of mod, I'd be willing to change the server to a different mod.

edit: how about a server to play some bots on?

pretty much anyone who was good at railz or duels who went to that server got banned reaper. me several times "for botting with railgun". and i've heard stories from other tastyspleeners that my experience was not an uncommon one.

so yeah, i kinda have to think that the whole sour taste of a terrible admin running that server outweighs any memories of fun (because, you know, i only got to play a few matches over the years on that server, partially hoping the admin removed the 50 yard stick from his anus)

This server was down, since I didn't have the server start on reboot. I"m replicating the data to another server. No mod suggestions? I may take a more active role in administering the server, or be able to give the RCON password out for people to manage it.
