You might also try that position with right-hand vs left-hand vs centered weapon. I think the weapon will offset but the viewpoint won't. I have not dug that deep into the code to know for sure. The bounding box definitely determines what is visible and what the player model will do. It's actually the BBox size that determines crouch action.Another factor is who is moving and who is standing still. If you are coming around a corner the prediction will tell your stationary opponent about it before you can get visual on him.
I don't see anything significant in this demo to lead me to believe this guy is using anything other than prediction/sound.
