I'm trying to be on your side alpha, but now you're starting to get a bit annoying...I saw nothing in this demo that would signify this guy is using any kind of "cheat"....I've pulled crazy flick shots like he did in the first? frag millions of times before, and the frags after are really pretty basic...I'm pretty sure you've prolly made some shitty (ie. vae) feel real good about themselves by accusing them and actually posting about it on here, when in fact, they aren't cheating....if I'm wrong, then I might apologize for being so brash, but I don't see anything significant in this demo to lead me to believe this guy is using anything other than prediction/sound.

i aint gonna argue this time, all i am gonna say is he didn't even see where he was. he may have heard him but had no idea he would be there. plus the previous map before i played him, even walking and crouching around corners and hit me out of nowhere.

For once, I'm not trying to argue either...but I truly did not see anything in that demo you posted that looks out of the ordinary....and again, I don't want to sit here and suck on hops nuts or anything, but the shots he makes, ESPECIALLY in CTF, make this guy look like a complete fucking noob that has been playing Q2 all but 5 minutes heh....so a luck flick rail and him missing as much as he does, especially a couple real easy shots, just doesn't give me a bot feel whatsoever.

First shot looks a bit odd, but the 3rd person view angle often does a shitty job of reproducing the subtle crosshair movements a person makes with any accuracy. It tends to smooth out the movements. Even spectating someone with the in-eyes cam doesn't always record every little thing perfectly. So that first shot might look a little odd in the demo to you, but it's pretty clear that he heard the person and guessed that they were hiding behind that pillar, so he made a quick flick shot in that general area once he jumped into position and got a lucky hit.

As for the rest of it....

He took a few shots where he missed wide. He also took a few shots where he barely missed. If the first shot would have been a bot assisted kill, then he wouldn't have even had the option to miss those shots he placed that close later on. The bot would've nailed them.

Well, if I was botting and did something like that kill, and had the person go screaming BOT BOT BOT, I would be very tempted to turn the fucker off and play normal for a bit

I agree the shot is odd, but not damning. Looking at the rest of the demo and the fact he has AC on, I'll give benefit of the doubt

We missed the first 25 frags, perhaps hiding behind that column is common? I don't play that map or boyce often.

i should have demo'd the game before that map from my perspective. i tested him out cause he was hitting some very odd shots. i was walking around corners and crouching around corners, even the slightest bit exposed he hit me dead on accurate with speed.

It was always my guess that you are exposed before you can see around a corner, no? As in, the player model sticks out before the viewpoint can see?

Yea, your player's "eyeballs" are in the same X/Y plane as the model's origin (i.e. the center of it, looking down from the top). Your eyes' height is determined by the "pmove" code, which factors in ducking and jumping to yield the Z offset. So given that your model has a bounding box of 32x32x56, then yea, significant portions of your model (or at least your hit box) are visible to players while you can not necessarily see them. Ref's screenshot demonstrates it perfectly.
