This is actually a very reasonable statement. Part of the reason why I gave up on games like Quake III and the Unreal Tournament series (aside from the fact I prefer Q2's gameplay over them) is because of the in-game browsers counting bots as players. It was a bit frustrating trying to find servers with actual people playing instead of bots that were renamed to lure you in there.

Or maybe some people experience a shock factor when they discover a Q2 server that has 20+ people playing in it at one time, so they have to confirm that they are actually going up against humans.

hehe.. yeah. here is a funny noob encounter. it was me

I'm on a server, its all weird edge maps. of which I have to DL every single one as I'd never seen em b4.
and theres like 5 or 6 ppl playing. I'm hitting awesome percents... rails only, and and took first place even
having dl the map. I say my gg's.. and ask if GB has a webpage, nutn.. you guys wanna match sometimes
it'd be a ton of fun.... fine... took me another 2 games to catch on. but I was a lil buzzed

I still have the demos... what a run, owned that clan into silence!!!!!

wasnt untill recently that I put Gladiator bot and GB together...

I don't know if this qualifies, but it just so happens I have a demo(nothing special) hot off the presses for you (btw, the demo is not complete, maybe near half way through the game, i thought i had input the command correctly and found out later i did not)

Basicly, this guy said he could mutilate me in a 1vs1 match..I did antagonize him a bit into it..Because I was boasting about my winning (for those of you who have played against me, yes, I can be an ass at times, but its all good fun!) anyways I got around to calling him fragmeat..hehe. So we tried a 1vs1 one time before this, but bobbafett popped in and started kicking our asses out of nowhere, then left half way through for no reason. Finally got to this map and played a decent game of 1vs1. and since the tourney is coming up (and hopefully it is rail only) i need to practice my 1vs1.

(btw, i do sort of spawn frag him a few times, be he did it ALOT the last few games, so I just had to)
