What are some funny encounters you've had with true blue newbies discovering the art of camping?

Mine would be on DM4. When coming down the ladder from the railgun room, out that hallway, and take a right towards the machinegun in the corner. Now between that machinegun, and the 2 hallways that one goes to the BFG, and the other goes towards the RL, I once found a n00b, and I do believe he was actually a n00b and not someone trying to be funny (this has been ages ago), squatting, blaster in hand, waiting for his first unsuspecting victim. It was almost cute hehe. Needless to say, I don't think he came out on top on that encounter =)

Also, somewhat recently, it was just me, and another n00b on DM7, 1v1 basically. Well, I find him near the hyperblaster, and he has the shotgun. He appears to be a keyboard user, so I decided to exploit his weakness a bit. So I'm strafing around him a bit, and he's doing his best to keep up with the keyboard turning rate, and like an anchored turret, spinning, and firing off a missed shotgun blast here and there. Then I decide to get right up next to him, and just duck. And sure enough, he hasn't mastered the crouch key, or the ability to change his aim with the keyboard yet. So he fires off at least 5 or 6 shotgun shells, sailing over my head. Then he figures out the crouch key, and I procede to time the shotgun shells firing off, and jump at the right moment, to again dodge his fire. It turns into a dance, me ducking, him firing over head, then him going for a duck shot, me jumping, back and forth. Was quite funny for me..... finally got a "haha" out of him. And to his credit, I do think I mis-timed a jump once and he got me hehe.

was always funny on AW rails to have a teamgame.. and yer noob teammate keeps trying to shoot at you....

I would play around and dodge the shots for a bit... then in the miiddle of the fight just stand still and let him shoot you
a few times... then talk about the godmode cheat you had.

Funny n00b experiences? I have one of those every time the lab map comes up on vanilla

I love fragging the tunnel camper. One time someone mymapped it with +ia, and there was a camper in there spamming grenades nonstop, and i came in with my SSG, jumped over all his grenades and ruined his shit. The thing i like doing is hitting the attack button just as i go into the teleport, so that i fire right as i'm coming out. Most of the time the camper never knows what hit em.

Yeah, or in the lab, just load up a hand grenade, before you go through portal, so soon as you die, instant-kaboom. Even better if you can let it fly soon as you TP, since I believe you'll get 2x explosions.

yeah, grenades are the only thing that really work to stop teleporter campers (telecampers?) since it creates an explosion big enough to hurt them if they're close. BUT it won't necessarily take 100 damage, and also if they have armor or higher health, it will take more than once. Although, I can frag most people before they even get a chance to know ive even teleported yet.

Ilove it when n00bs try to go and run under stairs, I pop a grenade in there or rail them.

offtopic, but I wish we had more maps with more machine traps and such, ie, something you can activate to kill someone if they are in the correct spots.

That happened just the other day n0c. i was at the yellow armor by the super shotgun. He was just barely around the corner. i saw you teleport through and jump over each grenade that popped out of his launcher with precision. It was beautiful to watch. I SAW THAT FUNNY NOOB MOMENT you had.

Ive tip-toesd over so many grenades to kill campers in the tunnel I should get an award or something!

Always the best is on city1 from the teleport to the rail where most campers set there tents having a rail and jumping off the ledge as you come through and railing them.Soooo much fun!

Ima go to mymap lab +pu -fd +ia +ws and im going to camp, because it's simply fun, I dont do it more than perhaps once a week.. it's a change xD
