I received Q2 in 1999 for my 13th birthday and started out heat.net, which in my opinion was the best place to play Q2, second to tastypleen of course.

I played a lot during 1999-2001, and was involved during a time where "ratbot" dominated the Q2 servers. Now I admit that I wanted to try it out and see how exactly the bot worked, but was never able to find a place to download it. I also was always interested in wallhacks so I could see how they worked and what not.

I just found hacks in general to be very intriguing. I never wanted to use them on servers, but I wanted test them out and see what they were like. I never used a hack in Q2 or any other game for that matter.

I went to the IP Gator posted, but I couldn't see through the walls. Not sure if I was gullible enough to fall for a joke (if that's what this was), but it sounds interesting if there is a server that allows you to do so.

it would require a second player to be there or at least some gibs lying around for you to see it. i thought the same thing the first time i loaded the server up. i thought, "oh shoot, it didnt work!". It is a modified server gamex86.dll. It is server side only. So you dont have to worry about connecting to the server and having any kind of hack download onto your computer. I'm not sure how accurate to frkq2 it is. That will require the comment of someone who has seen one in action before. However everyone is on the same playing field, so its not really cheating. i just set it up becuase i thought it was a novel idea and is a good way to understand what the cheater is seeing without having to put a hack on your computer.

It's pretty damn funky, "ya get what im sayin fo sho?" But more often that not, I was confused to the fact that the players sometimes looked like they were running on walls or running infront of where I was looking, but actually behind :/ Fun tho

i moved the server to the tastyspleen wod port, so now, typing goto wod will take you to WallHackers. So now you can stay in the tastyspleen system.

It is definately easy to become confused and rocket yourself shooting at somebody not realizing there is a wall right there.

i think it is funny as hell to play with people and have the two of you staring at each other and toying with each other behind walls. Daring the other to poke out. Hehe.

hacks can be fun if everyone has access to privelages they allow. I play against bots all the time on my LAN(Eraserbot,etc), though they don't simulate real players entirely, and when they miss u know they missed on 'purpose' instead of making a mistake. As for the multiplayer bots you connect to internet servers, I haven't really had much experience with those. I want to actually play, rather than see a bot play for me. because when I dominate you people on tastyspleen u will know it is me!! muahahaha. Besides the fact that i 0wn j00 4LL, the best way to overcome cheating is probably by having servers that just allow it. It's better to have a legitimate server for cheating, than cheating on a legitimate server. ya dig?
