echo sounds for q2

was wondering if there is a way to get the echo sounds like in this clip thresh vs billox
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pyX1Cc6Ejjk. when they jump and fire weapons ect, there is an echo sort of sound to it, sounds awesome. still reckon the graphics in this clip are fucking awesome too

Q2evolved?

I've downloaded Quake2Evolved, and I can safely say to not fucking bother with it. You will NEVER get anything in there to look like THAT.

As for the echo sounds, I don't know what to tell ya.

In the comments the author describes that the recording is done at a slower speed and then sped up after processing to produce the clearer image.

sounds like a sound card feature to me.  IE EAX, reverb built in, etc.

and yeah you can make it look like that... if you use high res textures and go in and edit the lights on every map yourself

the problem with q2e is that it is programmed so poorly, it takes a monster of a computer to even use it for demo recording purposes, it would never work as a play every day client.... the video was recorded at a slower timescale and then sped up mostly because it probably would never run at a reasonable frame rate with those kind of settings

you just need a better computer is all, programing is great.

im running a 3ghz quad with duel 8800gts cards.... i run any idtech4 engine maxed out... im pretty sure there is a big problem if i cant get decent frames on q2e

I'm being sarcastic.  One of the guys behind the engine's theory is that you need better hardware because he only wants the best visuals.  So buy new hardware.

looks great, if I could I'd like to get a setup like that.  they should of showcased a newer demo though.  if today's computers get low fps, maybe newer computers will be okay in a couple years

for demo recording for frag movies and stuff the client is perfectly fine

i believe bubkez's frag movies use the q2e client with the maps full brighted, the particle effects and everything still look amazing

but as far as an every day client its very poor :/ its lacking soooooo many features you get with clients like q2pro, apr, or r1q2
