I recorded the sound using a different Quake2 Engine. The video part was recorded using Quake2Evolved v.1.0 alpha and for the sound I used Quake2xp.

The thing is, that Quake2XP uses openAL as a sound driver. Before you start Quake2XP you have to install openAL. Luckily the OpenAL installer is located in the Quake2 directory after you install Quake2XP. "OpenAL Installer.exe" is included in the main install.

Im not sure but i heard that you can use the OpenAL sound driver with other Quake2 clients. Like r1q2.exe for example. However im not certain so you should probably google it or ask on some Quake2 forum.
