Im just curious, does any kind of silencer really makes a gun silent like those in the movie? I have seen and heard silencers/supressors and I could swear that it doesnt sound as quite as in the movies. Beside, it also take some power.

The silenced weapon of choice for smart hit men is a .22, Those can be silenced really well, and 2-3 shots in the head can really mess things up.
The round can penetrate the skull, but looses too much inertia from that to exit. I just bounces/follows the curve of the skull.

The thing that makes the difference with any "silencer" is using special ammo that travels at less than the speed of sound. Part of the sound a gun makes is a mini sonic boom.
