I mean I completely understand what your saying vae really i dont need you to explain it. Im sucker for good air rockets in frag movies that make me go WTF GTFO YOU DID NO JUST PULL THAT OFF. I mean, and this is my own personal opinion, cress may correct me after, and in that case ignore this. But I don't think he was going for an OVER the top epic frag video, shit like that takes time and effort and talent. Hard for a beginner at editing videos to pull off right off the bat. I'm sure you have a bazillion demos you could look through. and Im sure he does too, wasnt like he spent a month producing it. He was just showing the game as it is. Maybe we should just all submit time stamped demos with some nice frags and do like a community video making thingy mcbobber, idk. Can't hurt anything. More exposure, its fun to do.
I agree with Vae's constructive comments. Most of the frags in the video are not that interesting, for the reasons he said. He said my biggest gripes, which are:-The people you were fragging had mostly bad movement, so quite a bit of the frags are not impressive.-Match1 and the other random map don't show much interesting frags, because match1 is spam and the other map is too huge.Another reason why the frags aren't too interesting is because there's not enough weapon diversity, although that's because of match1 and the other map you played. I wouldn't worry too much about music. Whatever music you choose is fine, as long as it's not loud and obnoxious, because there will always be someone who doesn't like your music selection in frag video.
The only thing I'm gonna question there is.. bad movement? When you're being shot at you don't run away, Unless a. you're low on life b. have no weapons or c. you're bonzai
...I know there isn't much awe inspiring shots possible there, I was kinda going for brutal onslaught more than top tier frags, I've got damn near 2000 demos all randomly labeled. if I remember a good frag I got I couldn't go find it so quickly. Also, I suck at video editing and my keygrip doesn't work properly.. So I wasn't asking if this was an overly good frag movie, Although I do appreciate your input on it, But how did it make you feel? If you were some random person that , never played quake before, Or played a long time ago and don't think people still play, Would it make you wanna come back and try it out? That's what I was going for.

That's not interesting at all. That situation proposed shouldn't affect a person's movement. Ideally, it should motivate the player who's about to die, not to get hit even more. If you had potentially better footage to use, you should of put aside the time to sort through your footage, or organize your demos better in the future. I've been collecting demos to make a combo / frag / trick jump vid, started on it the other day. Still thinking about the proper song to sync everything together with... the only songs that go "well" with it, I don't like. Take white zombie - superbeast for example( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHBtpqbOKXk ), which is a laughable song to me. Although I don't necessarily like it, there's a lot of changes in intensity and tempo throughout the song.. just like my combos, frags, and whatever will vary in intensity, mood, etc. When I play it behind it behind combos it makes me actually like the song a lil. It's almost like writing a story kind of, and the song sets the mood of it. The best ones are the length of a typical song, short and sweet, and with all things in the video very cool to watch.Fortunately I have LOAAAAADS of combo video material, due to me always going for the craziest, most eccentric, frags possible a lot of the time. You end up hitting quite a few of them after trying for years and years.I recorded myself doing the SSG jump on dm1 20 times in a row the other day, which I'll have going while the credits are rolling I think.I know I kind of talked about working on my own vid, but I was still trying to give some general advice and a few examples of what I think is cool.
