agreed, except the damage part, the explosion gives a nice splash giving you the opportunity to damage/kill more then one player at the same time.
Also i'd HATE to be killed by a grenade while i have 100 health and just picked up a yellow armor  :WTF:

actually, excluding bfg because its retarded ways of dealing damage... the hand grenade IS the strongest weapon :) 125 damage on a direct hit i believe, grenades from the launcher do 120, rockets do 100+ 0-20 random damage, and rail does 100

could be wrong, but i think thats all right

Nades can take away 120. a rocket can take away 120. SSG can take away 120, if all 20 pellets to the shell connect (-6 HP each).

BFG can take away 200 HP technically but you're never in the practical scenario to absorb the entire blast radius.

thought hand nades were 125 and nades from the GL were 120... also was pretty sure the rockets were 100 + (0-20 random damage) because quakeworld rockets work taht way and q2 rockets dont seem to deal a set amount either :/ guess i should look it up and see now lol

think hand nades deal some random damage too :/

just tried it twice on a local client, went from 100/200 on both players to 78/108 and 78/110 with a direct nade on both 114 and 112

second round of tests i just got 79/111 and 78/109 so with 110 and 113... i think nades are dealing random damage and it would take a ton of tests to find out what the max is...

ill just take your word for it that it maxes out at 120 seeing as that seems to be the theme with q2, and i can now say that site is wrong because it doesnt say anything about random damage :)

Blaster  (30 dmg/sec)
Does 15 (10 in single player) energy damage. Fires 2 times every second.

Shotgun  (40 dmg/sec)
Shotgun shoots 12 pellets of 4 damage each for a maximum of 48 damage. Fires once every 1.2 seconds.

Super Shotgun  (100 dmg/sec)
Super shotgun shoots two shotgun blasts 5 quake units to either side of the center of your gun. (This is about equivalent to the height of one of those shallow stairs in the arena of q2rdm2.) Each blast contains 10 pellets which do 6 damage each for a grand total of 120 damage. Fires once every 1.2 seconds.

Machinegun  (80 dmg/sec)
Shoots 8 damage bullets at the rate of about 10 every second.

Chaingun  (80->160->240 dmg/sec)

I dont think BFG is only for noobs. If you use BFG SOMETIMES its completely OK  :rocketright:

However, if its the ONLY weapon you use, and its your ONLY strategy second to camping, then we're going to have some problems  >:(
