Haha well, I knew somebody would write something to me about this But purri ending 4th and not 1st or 2nd, really doesn't change my opinion. Maybe if he got totally raped by focus (it would be rape if pings switched).

well purri accepted to play with ping disadvantage when he sign-up on this cup
arch u cant expect from na players to play own cup in eu
they r not 'polite' like eu players in edl/edge/NDML league (or it was in rules to play home/away)

purri played decent considering he didn't play this nub version of quake2 last 12 years (or he did on quakecon once and get 10.000$ )

I don't think it has anything to do with USA players being polite. I haven't seen any na players claiming they'd do well with high ping in a euro league. I'd probably ping 200 most of the time if I played in one 

I mean purri was the favorite.. I'm not sure why he no-showed the LB though. although getting through adrenaline, then focus again, then beating naymlis 6 times would be very difficult... he still had a chance to win. Wish he would have showed, and I was surprised he lost to focus in winners too. Focus played a good set though.

He didn't show cause the games he played were at 2.00 after midnight on saturday. On monday he needs to work early, so he can't play on sunday that late. So he would never have won the league like that anyway, the final wasnt going to be played on saturday. A bit weird, probably he thought it's a 1 day cup.

I think the reason why purri (and damiah in nadl) agree to play on high ping is cause they can do well with it. One first place, one second, and one fourth. If purri expected to be raped in the first round, he wouldn't have entered. And, naymlis joining edl and having to play on ping 150+ on maps he doesn't even know, wouldn't be much fun.

5.2 If the players cannot manage to find a neutral server, they can ask an admin to help them. Otherwise the game can be played home/away. Home map is played on a away server.

naymlis would play his best maps on high ping and opponents map on low ping (but considering his present connection he don't have much fan on na servers too)

i hope for next cup admins will set GTV server so we can chose games we want to watch

i just finished watching the cup final between naymlis and adren and i have to say i was dissapointed. i watched a few earlier games and there were alot of quits and giving up during the matches, and it made it somewhat unattractive. i know most will say its just a game and who cares but these guys r supposed to be some of the best and it was a big event, all u have to do is look at the names that turned out like purri, so lets be honest anyone who plays games online comptetivley has to have some competitivness in their nature, i know i do, and to watch people give up like that was dissapointing

happened that way cause naym was the only top tier player to stick the cup out except for purri, and purri just... well *facepalm* there....

adren focus slugs and str1ker are amazing players, but they arent quite top tier, they are top tier as far as the community is concerned now, but the real top tier players are players like naymlis pyrex dahang scooby kickr0 and ah... if there is a fallow up cup i expect to see some of these names playing and we should have more boring early matches, but MUCH more interesting later matches...

as far as this cup went, the matches between focus and adren, and focus and purri were the most entertaining to watch because they are good players who are pretty even in skill

that was what i was hoping to see, so maybe next time we will see some of those players come out. f0cus and purri matches were probably the best to watch
