Damiah did say "spawn means nothing on dm1", but I don't agree with that..just because he has slick ways of retaking control, doesn't mean the opposition couldn't pressure him better. He has lost to purri a few times like that.

The only time I think spawn matters is when there is a severe ping advantage and the person with the better ping spawns chain and the other spawns rail. I think sewer spawn isnt the worst. Spawn and ping mean nothing on dm1.
It's been a long while since I made a key gripped video of q2. Can someone please explain to me an easy way of creating an avi file from a q2 client and demo, and then adding a voice over (with free software)?
That would be good for starting with a live match, but what about from a demo? Ideally I'd like to be able to switch views back and forth from a demo. How can this be done? I have heard something about server record in the past?Using xfire sounds nice and simple. I will use that, but if I could switch back and forth between players on demand that would be great..
Going back and forth between players, best done while watching. Even if you recam to switch, alot of time items/players will not be rendered from the pov of the NOT recording player. There is a server command that records a demo and includes every players pov, dunno how to split it though, and would need done from server console.BUT you could do something if you had demos from both players, would just need pieced together.I have some demos watching people, where I go back and forth depending on who I figure would have control after the next encounter.

The problem is I will only have one chance to get the player switching right unless the demo is recorded from the server. What sucks is that you can't switch back and forth between players from a single demo on this site. I'd like to be able to take old demos and show both players, showing that..this player is controlling the chaingun and mega health armor, and this is what the other player is up to, and then break it down into the tactical battles. If it comes down to it, I'll just switch between players on new games and that seems feasible. However it sounds like if a demo was recorded on the server, keygrip could be used to copy frames from both "player" demos into a single .dm2 file? I'd like to verify this before beginning the process. Also I was wondering, how would you pause the game with a voice over, just movie maker?
