I realized a little late that yesterday was both Valentines day and one of my children's birthdays.

I mean I did remember to do stuff for both but I should have realized and mentioned something earlier. My bad.

We can reschedule soon. In the mean time, I think that people are excited for another DDAY match!

hey! quake2 fans! kvaki here. ive been playing q2 since its release. never knew about this (sad huh lol) I just heard about this splatterfest. best thing ive heard in a while. I love quake2 and quake2 loves me lol!

lets get fragging q2 friends!

While you're here I've been strong armed into putting my server back together. Having some firewall issues ATM but it's top priority for me this weekend.

ROTAMODS is now back up. So tonight at 9:00 just GOTO ROTAMODS

Currently playing Marine CTF. This is a realism mod that resembles Action Q2 and DDAY but uses entirely stock models. The main difference is that all weapons do much more damage. There are also many other difference such as bullet spread based on movement and locational damage.

Commands:
punch - Melee attack that causes 25 damage. Does 300 damage if bersekred
class - Opens menu for switching classes. Each class starts with different weapons and items
team - Opens menu for changing teams
helpmenu - Opens help menu with more detailed information for classes and weapons
use grapple - Switches to Grapple. Only the spy gets a grapple.

Other features:
- Locational damage for bullet based weapons. More damage for headshots and less damage for leg shots. Energy and explosive weapons do normal damage regardless of location.
- Bullets do less damage based on distance. This effects shotguns especially.
- Bullet spread for machinegun is based on movement. Ducking is very accurate
- Super Shotgun fires barrels individually but can be fired rapidly for maximum damage
- Chaingun acts as staionary gun equiped with a supped up powerscreen
- Rocket launcher is extremely more powerful but must be fired from a ducking position.
- Hyperblaster fires faster projectiles. First it will fire a tracer and then requires a cool down after 15 shots.
- Railgun has a built in scope that will zoom in while you hold the fire button.

There are quite a few more features but these are the main ones. The way the game is played is by taking territory as a team and setting up defenders to hold that position. Snipers and demolition classes can break defenses to push the enemy back. Soldiers and Troopers are the most efficient for taking ground and the best in close combat. The spy has several options for getting around defenses and hiding when he holds the flag. The berserker and special are great for rushing and any other miscellaneous task. Every class has a use and the team that adapts well and switches to the right classes at the right time wins.

Class Breakdown:
Soldier - Starts with machingun, shotgun and grenades. The basic and versatile grunt.
Defender - Starts with SSG and Stationary Chaingun. Made for keeping an area and suppressing the enemy.
Trooper - Starts with Hyperblaster and Power Screen. Has essentially the most powerful weapon but is helpless when he runs out of cells.
Demolition - Starts with Rocket Launcher and Grenade Launcher. Moves in to clear rooms and break defenses. Not effective at close range.
Sniper - Starts with shotgun, Railgun, and silencers. Good for both making and breaking defenses.
Berserker - Starts with Super Shotgun, Lots of armor, and a Berserk Item. Useful for rushing into a situation. Best for rushing out.
Spy - Starts with a machinegun, grapple, silencer, rebreather, and enviro suit. Not effective in combat but can easily get in and out of any situation and take alternative routes.
Special Ops - Three words: Starts with BFG. Can be used to clear really tough defenses but once he's outa ammo... he's just another meat shield.

All models, textures, env, and sounds are stock quake2 and ctf

Fixed a few features:

- While zoomed in with Railgun, you can use +use to zoom further and release +use to zoom back out.
- Adjusted shotgun damage, was rounding down to 0 too quickly
- fixed leg and head damage. Now causes limping for legs and no armor protect for head
- Restored blaster laser, fired from blaster by holding the attack button to charge (1 glitch pending but don't have time to debug tonight)
- fixed issue with rocket never curving to bottom right quadrant
- fixed additional movement issues

Here's the current source. I'll try to throw up a proper website some time:

Had to restart the server and tweak a few things so thanks for being patient

I'll post the newest version of the source with those fixes and tweaks tonight.

So on that note, we have a windows server, anything is open for next week!
