you're saying people don't already have a 7gb Q2 folder with pretty much every mod, map & model ever made? People STILL need to download stuff?

This past week didn't get out to a big start and I unfortunately had to cut out early.

It seems like the new freeze server could use a good splatter fest for this coming week. (although there is no actual splattering there

)

I was thinking of freeze this weekend.

Last sunday I didn't get home in time. Throw in the fact it was Simpson's 20th anniversary special, I thought many people might not show (at least US east/west coasters)

in honor of AvP coming out in ~2 1/2 weeks, this weekend we'll play AvP (aka Prediator):

How To Play As The Predator:

Bindings:

   +hook   (fires hook, if you hold down and it pulls you up)
   +shrink (pulls you in)
   +grow (lets out more line)
Now about the grapple... you're invisible... the grapple is not.. so they
can see where you are... so be carefule.

New Weapons
1) Claw, lots of damage, little knockback
2) Spear, medium damage, lots of knockback... and a suprise.
3) Plasma Caster, charge it and shoot. But they can see your sight.
4) Smart Disk, fires and comes back to your position, hope you can catch.
5) Toggles your invisibility. If it's off, you get 4x frags!

O.k. Here is the deal with the invisibility, if its off you get 4x frags.
If you take ANY damage it goes off. Simply hit 5 and turn it back on.
However if its off you get 4x frags! oh thats like the 3rd time i said that.

How to Play as a Marine:
Well Pretty much you run around, and try to kill the Predator.
However you do have a whole new arsenal of weapons.

1) Double Blaster, just like the regular blaster, only you have 2.
2) Sniper Rifle, zooms in, if the predator is in your fov it tints.
3) Dbl Shotgun... still haven't changed it... any ideas?
4) Assualt Weapon, 2 fire modes, machine and grenade.
5) Chain Gun, will change to a Zastaba, trust me ok?
6) Mirv Grenade Launcher, fire and it explodes into 4 more.
7) Drunk Missile Launcher fires 5 drunk/homing rockets.
Plasma Ejector, like a flamethrower... the fire model needs work.
9) Rail Gun, will be a Particle excelerator.
0) Blank now... will be a continuos laser emitter.
g) Normal Grenade.

I stopped in for a minute but had to go to bed early so I didn't get to play. I love this mod though. It's still a bit raw but is a lot of fun.

Anyone have time to play it today?

I'm watching the 5th's ustream video of the jailbreak game...

I'm literally bouncing up and down with a mix of joy for seeing those maps played again, and frustration at not being there myself.

I was shouting directions at the screen when Jehar was getting lost in the maps. I'm so psyched that you guys are wanting to play this again, I'll totally be there tonight, the suberbowl can suck my superballs. I'm going to try to stir up the oldschool Q2JBers as much as possible, though tonight I'm not sure how many you'll get.

Excited. Excited excited excited! Also inebriated, due to being snowed in... But still, excited!
